I CAN TRAVEL BETWEEN 2 WORLDS CHAPTER 8
The class has started and I go back to my own seat.
"You two look close together, bro." My best friend Ranu said while grinning from ear to ear.
"Is there something happening between you two?" He continued to tease me making me sigh.
"Seriously, there is no way it's like that right? The two of us just sat together and you know. Learn History for our test after this period." I explain but it's truly a futile thing to do.
There is no way I won't get teased for this.
"Hey, uhm. I know it's uncalled for and I think you won't like this. But there is someone who is glaring at you. Damn man, even I feel it." He says nervously.
Huh? Who?
I attempt to see my back.
"Aldi, if you can see your back please turn here. The board is in front of you. Not the other way around."
Everybody chuckles at me while I feel embarrassed a bit by it.
"How about you solved this then?" The Match Teacher said frowning at me and write a simple math question on the board.
We still use chalk.
Truthfully I didn't get this school. Despite has been modernizing a bit there is some touch of the past that stays here it seems.
I approach the board and write the answer easily.
"Good, as expected of you Aldi. But I hope you are focus on the front instead of the back." After that, I got back to my seat.
"Damn, man. What is this about? I just want to see it. So who is glaring at me?" I mutter to Ranu.
"Who else? Your dear ex." He said.
Ex? Who? I didn't remember that I have an ex-girlfriend here?
Something click in me.
I pinch my friend.
He looks surprised and nearly yep.
Luckily for him, he didn't
"What is that all about man?"
"I'm the one who should have said that. You are jest with me right? Joking on that like that."
"But that's the truth. She is your ex."
"An Ex, Ranu is the one who has that kind of relationship with me, and then she or I broke it. The two of us didn't have anything like that. Ever."
"Well, she did reject you. And you two stop being friends."
I frown.
"I didn't stop being her friend. Even if Sasha reject me the two of us still a friend. Even if we are kind of awkward now."
"Okay, class. we are finished for now. Remember doing your homework that you have to get it done on a week from now."
Before I realized it the Teache has gone back.
We are on break now.
"Whatever man, just. I know you still upset about that so I won't say anything about it. But she definitely glares at you the whole time." I guess he is kind of tired and hungry so he says he is gonna have some food from the cafeteria.
"Are you busy Aldi?" The one who asks this was Dahlia, the one that studies just this morning with me.
"No, actually. I just playing yeah, kinda. What's up?"
"Well, do you have some times? There is something I didn't know and I guess I can ask you. Of course if you have time that is."
"Oh, sure. What is this about than?"
She gave me the text book.
I read the info about it. Ah, it's about Majapahit Empire huh.
"So what are you confuse about then?"
"I want to know as you can see they are rather a big empire. So there may be questions about them. I even underlined the thing I didn't understand. About their rise to power. Their Victory and even their destruction. I want to know why did they fall actually as it isn't clear enough on the book."
"Ah about that, yeah this book didn't really cover much huh. The empire began to decline after the death of Gajah Mada in 1364, and it was further weakened after the death of Hayam Wuruk in 1389. And there is any kind of thing happen like a power struggle between the successor eh."
She still look confused so I explain further from what I remember tha I had learn on history.
"Hayam Wuruk had a daughter, Crown Princess Kusumawardhani, with Queen Sori. Kusumawardhani married a relative, Prince Wikramawardhana. However, from a consort concubine, Hayam Wuruk had a son, Prince Wirabhumi. After Hayam Wuruk's death in 1389, the empire fell into chaos and decline during the contest over succession between Wikramawardhana and Wirabhumi. The dispute ended in Wirabhumi's defeat in the Paregreg war. Wikramawardhana succeeded Hayam Wuruk as the King of Majapahit."
"Despite Wikramawardhana's success in winning the war and defeating Wirabhumi, the civil war gravely weakened previously unchallenged Majapahit hegemony in Nusantara and loosened Majapahit's grip on its far-flung vassal kingdoms. His invasion of Singapore in 1398 however, is a success. Wikramawardhana ruled until 1429 and was succeeded by his daughter, Suhita."
"That's the beginning of their decline. The war made them lose grips on their vassal and time by the time their power also began to lose."
