Harrison High University is 10 minutes by train. She walked with her siblings and split up in their respective train stop.
Xinyi walked in a crowded path and noticed that the stations were packed with people. She pulled out her card and swiped it beside her and walked towards the train.
She went inside with the crowd and tried to find a handle to hold onto. However, the handle was too high for her to reach so she's using her tippy toe to stay in place. Despite her attempt, staying in place was impossible with hundreds of people on board. An abrupt push shoved Xinyi to the side and collided on a sturdy chest.
"If you want to catch my attention that bad at least be unnoticeable about it" A deep husky voice said from above her.
Surprised from the unexpected events, she glanced at him and realized that he's one of her rivals ever since grade school. Starting now starts her 3rd year of High School.
Shen Xinyi is a competitive person when it comes to academics and school related. This person is always surrounded with people, mostly girls trying to catch his attention. Even though Xinyi doesn't care much about her surroundings, who wouldn't forget someone to suddenly overtake her place.
She works so hard everyday and out of nowhere a person who creates trouble came in first place all of a sudden.
After seeing him, Xinyi is determined to take first place this school year and be valedictorian.
She glanced at him and came in contact with his dark alluring eyes. A smirk could be seen from his lips. Even though she hates talking in public, her parents educated her to apologize when she's in the wrong.
Xinyi gathered her courage and apologized. She then reached for the handle holding it for her dear life.
Amused by her clumsiness, he stared at her and thought that she looked familiar. He's always surrounded by girls but he doesn't pay attention to any of them because of their annoying high pitch voice. However a face like hers, nobody would be able to forget.
The train came on halt and more passengers came in making it more cramped.
An old lady came their way and Xinyi remembered her grandmother. Sadly, she passed away two years ago. She gave her spot and there she stood in the middle of the old lady and her rival.
Xinyi checked her watch that reads 7:25 am
Next to her however, the guy was racking his brain trying to remember the girl beside her.
The train came to a full stop and Xinyi squeezed her way through the crowd. Even so, tripping is one of her habits ever since birth. She once tripped on a flat, smooth, rough, all kinds of texture but not once did she show emotions. She would show a straight face instead of showing a face of embarrassment.
Xinyi was not surprised when she stumbled on her undone shoelace. She tried to hold onto something but instead a long hand went around her waist and hold her in place.
"Are you doing this on purpose cause I haven't encountered someone to be this clumsy. "
Xinyi was caught off guard because no one has ever held on her waist before especially the opposite sex. She was about to retort but remembered that she still had 2 minutes until she reached school. Various consequences run through her mind, 'what if I get detention? What if I'll be in second place forever? What if I get suspended, etc.' her thinking made her face so pale like a ghost.
She sprinted her way out forgetting her unknot lace leaving a bewildered guy behind.
