Ryan and the captain walked into the third floor of the police station . The atmosphere a mix of urgency and routine , with officers moving about , phones ringing and the genral hum of police work in the background . It was the complete opposite of the reception area .
Ryan continued to follow the captain as they reached the Roll call room
A man in a sergeants uniform was busy addressing the officers in the room " Alright that's what's on the docket for Today, Mcnab we just got a call about a robbery on Kingler street, I want you to be the detective in charge I want officers to cordon of the area as soon as you get there ..everyone, lets's move out and go catch ourselves some jewrelly thieves"
all the officers in the room began to get up from their chairs when the captain spoke up " Hold up three Jeffords Sorry to Disturb everyone's already busy day but the commissioner assigned a new officer to our precinct and I need you to sort out who's gonna be his training officer"
Sergean jeffords looked past the captain to see the young face of Ryan standing there next to him " I assumed there would'nt be new rookies for another 3 months How' did the kid get in "
the captain gave him a look that told not to ask
Jeffords sighed then looked at the officers who were now standing waiting to be dismissed " Welters you lucked out on not being a T.O with the last batch ,take the kid and babysit him will yah "
Ethan Welters was a man in his early thirties who had brown lowcut fade and a pair of focused eyes but when he heard the words coming out of the sergeants mouth he cringed and squinted his eye's as he looked at Ryan before answering.
" Yes sir " The captain after hearing the answer promptly left the room with the officers still standing there.
" Alright people move it now !!! we got criminals to catch"
the crowd of officers filtered out the room as Ryan also walked up to officer Welters" Hi officer welters My name is Ryan Walker pleased to meet you I look forward to learning from you"
Ethan Welters cut him off immeadiatly "Alright kid I do not know you, so your name henceforth will be "Rookie" untill such a time comes that you earn the right of having a name you will answe to the name rookie"
he scanned Ryan seeing he was in civillian clothes " Go put on your uniform we are heading out to a crime scene "
Ryan started to notice he was a little unprepared "Yeah I don't have one of those can i get them somewhere "
Ethan looked at Ryan like he was crazy " Weren't you given one when you passed the academy"
Ryan slightly coughed" yeah i did'nt go to the academy..."
Ethan's gaze was losing light as he heard Ryans answer" so what , you just showed up and asked for a job and they gave it to you ?"
".. ..... .... well kinda"
Ethan reached for a chair to support himself as he felt his muscles going weak as he asked the next question " can you hold a gun at least?"
" ...I am fast learner , plus I can take care of myself with hand to hand combat"
Ethan finally slumped into the chair as looked up into the fan on the sealing his thoughts wandering" I got paired up with freahkin batman here . "

45 minitues later
Ethan and Ryan arrived and Montgomery's jewlelry store , the storefront cordoned off with bright yellow police tape . A patrol officer stood guard near the shattered glass door . Inside , the store was in a disarry , with display cases broken and jewelry missing . Detective Mcnab , the sharp eyed and seasoned Detective who Ryan had seen at the roll call room was already on the scene examining the evidence .
" Glad you could finally join us Welters, is the rookie dragging you down already" Mcnab said not looking up from his notes . "This is a clean job , professional . I need you to canvass the area , interview potential witnesses , and gather any additional evidence"
Welters nodded . " Got it , Detective . Ryan stick close and watch how we do things ,put on some gloves so you you don't leave fingerprints on anything alright"
Ryan took his position , using his Byakugan to scan the area discreetly . He spotted a few subtle clues ' like the direction of the broken glass and faint footprints leading away from the scene. The Byakugan gave to him to ability he found way too similar to investigation mode in the Batman games he used to play
" officers , it looks like the glass was broken from the outside , and there are some footprints leading that way " Ryan called out
Welters grabbed Ran by his new uniform and pulled him to the side "Good eye spotting the direction the window was broken into on your first crime scene kid but don't just go about shouting it okay first verify everything then go to the detective with it"
Mcnab on the other hand Raised an Eyebrow then looked and where Ryan said he had spotted a set a footprints " That's some eye you got there kid it would have taken us a while to find these maybe someone might have stepped over them by then "
"But let's make sure it actually leads to something" Mcnab and Welters began Examing the areas close to the footprints , showing Ryan how to gather evidence and mark important details , Ryans Byakugan helped him spot a partial finger print on a
display case and some fabric caught on a broken piece of glass
