Riolu is a Fighting type baby Pokémon from Generation IV. It evolves into Lucario when it reaches it's passes puberty.
(A/N: older evolution method is going to change period, like seriously....how does a wild riolu evolve???
Major plothole...as in standard from a Pokemon franchise. And the evolution process by shining light and suddenly going on steroids is very memorable in Tv and game, but mine will change the process to be similar to human growth.)
Physiology:
Riolu is a black and blue, dog-like Pokémon nearing two and a half feet. Its appearance is similar to its evolved form Lucario, though there are some differences. Its legs and torso are colored black while its head, lower body and tail are blue. Riolu have large, rounded bumps on the backs of its forepaws, placed in a similar fashion to Lucario's spikes. Riolu also have a black "mask" with two black appendages on either side, and red eyes.
And slightly large scar on it's torso.
Natural abilities:
Riolu are sensitive to a special type of energy called Aura as Lucario is. Riolu's evolved form, Lucario, can use these waves for attacks, tracking, or to predict future moves. However, Riolu does not have the full potential of these powers, using them as described in ripples rather than waves. Moves such as Aura Sphere can not be learned by Riolu due to its inability to fully use the power of Aura. There is at least one exception to this rule, however that being the Riolu in anime.
And that digit may turn into 2. may?
Anime:
In the anime, Riolu has made an appearance during Pokémon Ranger and the Kidnapped Riolu! Parts One and Two, which aired as a one hour special commemorating the release of Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia. This Riolu had been trained to use Aura Sphere and was unnaturally strong. It was taken away from its owner by a group that wanted to exploit it but Ash and co. returned it, with Kellyn's help. This Riolu developed a strong bond with Ash.
Cameron has a Riolu that battled in the Unova league and evolved into a Lucario and defeated Unfezant, Snivy and Pikachu but lost to Virgil's Flareon.
Korrina has a Riolu that evolved into a Lucario.
Ash's egg hatched into a Riolu and then went on to attack other pokemon with its vacuum wave until Ash managed to convince Riolu to join Ash. Currently it is with Ash's and Go's other pokemon at the Cerise Laboratory. When Riolu went with Ash to the Kalos region it admired Korrina's lucario and watched Ash defeats her Lucario.
Ash used Riolu against Bea but lost. Later Ash use Riolu again but this time scored a draw with Bea.
Ash's Riolu evolved into a Lucario in journeys during a battle with Rose.
Manga:
In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Maylene has a Riolu. It is seen using Drain Punch against Pearl's Monferno, who Platinum borrowed in order to fight her. Then, when Diamond's is traveling alone, he is given an egg by Riley, which eventually hatched into a Riolu. In Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Adventure! Hareta gained a Riolu egg in Serious Training on Iron Island which hatched into a Riolu later on in that chapter.

PHYSIOLOGY:
Lucario is a bipedal dog/wolf/jackal-like Pokémon, with a few kangaroo and/or raccoon-like characteristics as well. Though it is similar in appearance to Riolu, Lucario has some notable differences. Its forepaws are black and it has large pointed spikes in place of the oval shaped bumps on Riolu. There is also a third spike protruding in the middle of its chest. Lucario's ears and muzzle are longer in comparison to Riolu but it retains the black "mask" and red eyes. The "mask" also has an added upper stripe. It also has four black sensory bundles on the back of its head opposed to Riolu, who only had two and were previously located on the side of its head. Additionally, Lucario's torso is covered in yellow fur with thicker patches on the collar.
NATURAL ABILITIES:
Lucario can use aura to communicate or sense its surrounding environment.
Lucario is shown to be able to communicate telepathically, So yeah, my boy is gonna get a minor upgrade in Psychic section.
BEHAVIOR:
Known as the Aura Pokémon, Lucario are sensitive to a special type of energy called Aura. The black appendages on the back of its head are used to detect the Auras of creatures and objects around it. With its ability to sense the Auras in all things around it, it can navigate and track through telepathic methods. They can also guide the waves of an Aura in an offensive manner to create small balls of energy such as Aura Sphere. Lucario are also able to understand human speech; it is said that Lucario can also speak it, though only Sir Aaron's Lucario has been shown to do so and only through telepathy.
Additionally, Lucario are very reserved, prideful and very serious Pokémon and also extremely loyal to their trainers, but they can be also friendly and cooperative with strangers and their Pokémon.
According to Gurkinn in "The Aura Storm!", when a Lucario Mega Evolves, the power of their aura and their battling instinct is brought to the limit, so much so that when in battle a Lucario only focuses on their opponents. When a Lucario loses control of its aura in this stage it'll go wild, berserk and relentlessly attack them.
ABOUT:
Lucario reads its opponent's feelings with its aura waves. It finds out things it would rather not know, so it gets stressed out easily.
They can detect the species of a living being—and its emotions—from over half a mile away. They control auras and hunt their prey in packs.Not only does it perceive auras, but it has gainered the power to control them. It employs them in battle.
It controls waves known as auras, which are powerful enough to pulverize huge rocks. It uses these waves to take down its prey.
It concentrates its mental energy and fires off mysterious waves called auras, which can crush boulders of large size to dust.
