"You're awake? Have some water."
Chen Xin opened his eyes and saw a cup of hot water being handed to him, held by a red mechanical prosthetic limb.
"Qin Lan? What brings you here?" Chen Xin sat up from the sofa, rubbed his forehead to clear his mind, took the water cup, and took a sip to wash away the sour taste in his mouth, and asked Qin Lan, who had appeared without him noticing.
He also remembered drinking too much with the supervisor earlier and falling asleep directly on the sofa in the lounge.
Thinking of this, Chen Xin glanced at the table next to him, only to see that the previous mess of cups and plates had been cleaned up.
"I originally came to find you, but they said you were drunk, so I stayed here to watch over you," Qin Lan explained her presence there, took the empty cup from Chen Xin's hand, and asked, "Want some more?"
"Yeah, a bit thirsty," Chen Xin nodded, indicating Qin Lan to pour him another cup of water.
