A rare New Year's Eve dinner, whether for Chen Xin, Qin Lan, Mo Qingyan, or even the freeloading Han Ping, was precious enough and endlessly memorable.
Now that it's the apocalypse, the lavish feasts of previous New Year's Eves with a dozen or so dishes of chicken, duck, fish, and meat are hard to come by. But having meat, vegetables, chicken, and duck is already considered very bountiful.
Plus, it's New Year's, and the four of them are away from home, not celebrating with their families. In such a unique setting, everyone inevitably drank a few more glasses.
Han Ping, who at least still had enough alertness and owing to his good tolerance for alcohol from his army days, wasn't drunk after a few drinks. So, after finishing the meal, he packed some leftovers and took the remaining unfinished alcohol off the vehicle, planning to drink a couple more glasses with the special forces officers he met recently, also to avoid the three on the vehicle.
