It's been a few month since the incident. But more stranger things were afoot. The Duke's feelings for Evie kept growing. He was starting to become a bit more distracted when she came around. But Evie was clueless and I mean completely clueless. Even Aspire was starting to be disappointed in Evie not figuring this out now. There has to be a way for her to take a hint and get the picture. The Duke is too bashful to express his feelings and Aspire will make it awkward and ruin it.
Duke's POV
*Sighs* How am I going to get her to notice me and my feelings? This is hard. How do you confess your love to another? I hate that I haven't made much thought of this. Well, I've never been in love before, let alone to a little maid. This is so difficult to think about. My stomach feels as if it's twisting into a knot. My mouth is dry, My palms are clammy, I can't stop this. What can I do??
Evie's POV
The Duke is still acting strange but in a very suspicious way. He has been avoiding me as well. This isn't good. Am I going to be fired? Am I going to be killed or thrown in the dungeon? Calm down, Evie, You are spiraling again. You know what. I'm going to go up and ask what is going on myself. I'm getting to the bottom of this if it's the last thing I do. And since this is The Duke I'm dealing with, It might possibly be the last thing I actually do. Well, No time like the present. Let's get some answers.
No One's POV
Evie went to search for The Duke but He was thinking and panicking in his bed chambers. He was so nervous about telling his feelings to her. Then he heard a knock on his door. "Uh.. Who goes there?" Asked The Duke. "Sire, It's me, Evie, May I come in?" Spoke Evie. The Duke blushed furiously and started to panic a bit. He took a big sigh and calmed down. His blush went down and he opened the door to signal her to come in. Evie entered the room and Looked at The Duke. "What i-is it that you need to tell me, Evie?" Asked The Duke. "Not really what I need to tell you, More so something I must ask you." Said Evie. "Well, What is your question?" Asked The Duke. " Why have you been avoiding me, Sire? Did I do something wrong? Are you going to fire me?" Asked Evie. The Duke looked at her and replied "W-What? No, I'm not going to fire you. You did nothing wrong, Miss Evie." "Then why have you been avoiding me? Is it something I said?" Asked Evie again. "I haven't been avoiding you. I-I've just been in a bad place.. i-in my mind for a while" Said The Duke who turned his head. Evie looked at him confused. She didn't get what he was saying. "Look, I'm just going to be honest with you. A-And I can't keep avoiding my feelings. It's just been so hard to express them" Said The Duke. "I'm still a bit confused, Sire. What feelings are you talking about?" Said Evie. "W-Well, I… Uh-.. I-"
