Weiyang Palace, resplendent in gold and jade with an ancient charm.
The walls, pillars, and brackets of this palace make extensive use of gold. The steps, terraces, and floors are all made from white jade.
The roof is covered with vermilion jade tiles, with high eaves that seem to fly.
The palace interior is filled with flowers and trees, artificial hills, and streams encircle the main hall. Various arch bridges, corridors, and pavilions are interspersed, and to the north of the palace is a lake, Zhuoyu Lake, which spans several dozen miles.
The natural interest of flowers, woods, hills, springs, and lakes also subdues the palace's opulence, adding an aura of unity of heaven and mankind to the luxurious palace.
Gao Xuan took a stroll around Weiyang Palace and chose the Qi Observation Pavilion beside Zhuoyu Lake as a place to rest.
The Qi Observation Pavilion is built from pine wood, simple and natural in style. The rooms inside are relatively cozy and comfortable.
