After hearing Olivia's response and the way she referred to Jay, Anya came to an unexpected realisation.
'This Alpha Chosen somehow seemed to hold a position even higher than the Omega Chosen within their faction. Not only that, but she appeared to have complete trust in his strength.
Anya couldn't help but glance at Jay once more, trying to gauge just how powerful he truly was.
Unfortunately, there was nothing for her to examine. The figure before her was merely a holographic projection, rendering any information-gathering abilities completely useless.
Soon afterward, Olivia excused herself, mentioning that she had other matters to attend to. She then ended the connection, and her holographic projection disappeared, leaving only Anya, Jay, and Lil Snout behind.
Having achieved part of her objective, Anya chose not to remain any longer. She retrieved a small jade token no larger than a coin and tossed it toward Lil Snout.
Startled by the sudden throw, he hurriedly caught the token with both hands.
As she slowly rose into the air, she addressed Jay, "As agreed earlier, I'll be taking my leave now."
She then pointed toward the jade token in Lil Snout's hands.
"That token can serve as a communication bridge between us. Once I'm ready to enter the 3rd Orbital Belt, I'll contact you."
Before she could depart, Jay quickly spoke up.
"Miss Anya, I'd appreciate it if you could take Lil Snout with you. If he's left alone and encounters another powerful Aberrant, he might lose the jade token you've given him."
Anya considered the request briefly before shaking her head.
"From the strength you've displayed so far, I doubt he requires my protection. Besides, bringing others along will only slow me down and delay how soon I can meet Olivia."
Seeing her reluctance, Jay immediately changed his approach.
"The phantoms protecting him have limited durations, unlike the ones currently safeguarding Olivia. If you happen to encounter other members of my faction along the way, you can leave him with them."
He paused before adding with a faint smile on his face.
"And if any of them happen to be in danger, helping them would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure Olivia would think highly of you for helping her fellow faction members."
Anya's eyes narrowed instantly. She could clearly tell what Jay was doing.
'Hmph... he isn't even attempting to hide the fact that he's trying to leverage Olivia to secure protection for his faction members,' she thought.
Whatever positive impression she had formed of him earlier immediately dropped several notches. She kept those thoughts to herself and didn't voice them aloud.
Even so, considering her objective, she had little choice but to tolerate it. Moreover, earning Olivia's goodwill was worth the inconvenience.
After a brief silence, she reluctantly agreed. Without another word, she shot Jay one final dissatisfied look before safely enveloping Lil Snout in her Energy and soaring across the horizon, quickly disappearing from sight.
