Julian Rhodes raised his hand, grabbing her hand as she placed food on his plate, and said, "I can do it myself."
Scarlett Xavier glanced at him and replied, "Okay."
She served herself some soup and began eating. Julian watched her, truly feeling his heart was in her firm grasp.
Even though her own Chinese New Year wasn't great, she now thought about making it up to him.
This was the most peaceful meal Julian had had in recent months. Although his second brother had been caring for him daily since he returned from Veridia, he hadn't felt at ease without Scarlett by his side.
Now that Scarlett was with him, he could finally savor the taste of dinner.
Seeing Julian almost finished eating, Scarlett said to him, "There are some things I think I need to clarify with you."
Julian looked at Scarlett, a hint of grievance in his eyes, "So, you're going to send me away again before I finish my meal?"
