At dusk, sunlight streamed into the room, and Scarlett Xavier awoke to Vivian Bell's knock amidst a sea of orange light.
She got up, slipped on her slippers, and walked out, noticing that the aunt had already prepared dinner.
Vivian asked, "Where's Julian Rhodes?"
"Isn't he here?" Scarlett also felt puzzled, "He's not in the room."
Vivian said, "I thought he was resting with you; I wonder where he went."
The aunt came out of the kitchen and said, "He went out."
Not knowing where he went, Scarlett picked up her phone and called him to join them for dinner. Over the phone, his voice mingled with the sound of waves, "You eat first."
Scarlett asked, "You're not eating?"
"I'll have something later."
Scarlett replied, "Okay then."
She glanced at the dinner the aunt prepared, most of which was seafood. Knowing he was avoiding certain foods, it seemed pointless to make him come back, only for him to be unable to eat. So she didn't bother him.
