Silence settled in the room, my grandfather pulling up a chair and sitting down, right across from us. As me, Nari, and Kyong sat in the couch. [Grandpa]"Kyong, Nari, and Seong. I want you to listen to me very carefully, Only pack what's necessary, one set of clothes, canned food, reusable water bottle, toothbrush, etc. When we are out there, you listen to me. I could see it in my grandfather's eyes, these words he was saying, these rules he was imposing, he meant every single word of them. And he wasn't going to let us go outside, if we didn't agree to follow those rules. I nodded. Grandpa let out a sigh, stood up, and clapped his hands, [Grandpa]"All right then, let's start packing! Seong, I will help the little ones pack, okay, you can start packing your things.", [Seong]"Mhmm". As I stood up and started going towards my room I felt something holding onto my hand. It was Kyong, and for the first time, during this moment, I started to take into account the worried expression on their faces. I knelt down, and Kyong started to say,[Kyong]"A-are we going to a scary place?", [Seong]"What?". [Kyong]"The tv said people died", [Nari]"Are we going to die?", I could see Kyong and Nari starting to tear-up, [Nari]"W-w-why can't we stay at home?The tv said to stay at home!!".[Seong]"Look!!Don't cry okay!Listen!bad things are starting to happen, not here!!but close to here, okay. So me and Grandpa decided to go a bit far from the bad stuff till' it goes away, then we will come back, when it's gone.okay, look, when we're back,I promise to buy you ice cream and one toy okay?", I started to wipe away their tears and straighten their posture.[Nari]"You promise?", [Seong]"I promise", [Kyong]"and no one will die?", I sighed and said,[Seong]"And no one will die, okay!Me and Grandpa will keep you safe no matter what!okay!", they both nodded.[Seong]"Great! Now go to Grandpa to get packed up and ready to go.". As I saw them running to their room I started to go into mine. It was a bit messy,at least my side of the room was. the bed wasn't made, the cover of the mattress was white and the covers blue, we had two laundry baskets in one corner, one small cabinet on each side of the bed. We had a huge cabinet on the fourth wall, and a slide-in closet on the left side of the fourth wall. I emptied my school backpack and put in a pair of shorts, pants, a t-shirt, a heavy-duty jacket, my toothbrush, two pairs of underwear , and a reusable water bottle stuck to the side, as well as another pair of shoes tied to a hook on the outside of the backpack. I switched my wet shirt with a long sleeve one, and I put on a light hoodie, I put on the backpack and I was ready to go. As I was going towards the hallway I spotted the storage closet, I opened it and saw an old hammer, I picked it up and swung it with the curving end forward, and swung it upwards with the blunt end. It felt a bit heavy, but with the correct amount of force and precision, it could be deadly. I crammed it to the sides of the inside of my backpack, didn't want Grandpa knowing that I packed a weapon, with how scared and stressed he was starting to become, I just knew that him finding out that I brought this to bring harm to something would make him go off his nut. I walked into the living room and everyone was ready to go. Nari, Kyong, and Grandpa were all wearing their heavy-duty jackets as well as equipped backpacks. [Seong]"Wow! Was I not invited to the puffy jacket party?", [Grandpa]"We don't have sleeping bags and we don't have enough room for the blankets, remember? We will be using the jacketsfor warmth if worse comes to worse, did you pack one?", [Seong]"Of course I did, I just feel more comfortable in my hoodie.". [Grandpa]"hmmmm...fine", said Grandpa as he narrowed his eyes at me while raising one eyebrow. He opened the door and peeked through the crack, nothing, we went out in a line formation with Grandpa at the front, me at the back and my siblings in the middle. We went down the stairs and turned left towards an alley leading towards the street and sidewalk, at the same time my grandfather and I covering the eyes of Nari and Kyong from the pool and trail of blood left from the woman earlier pleading for help. We made it to the main street, seeing a stream of people jumping and walking over cars, some running, others walking, and the rest stupidly recording from the balcony of their apartments, ridiculing us for leaving and not listening to the orders of the mayor.
