Chapter 2 - Making a deal with the Wolf

"Mira little Mira... what a delicious name you have."

Mira then started to walk back but stopped, and her thoughts started to pour into her mind. Why is this wolf talking to me like that? Is he trying to eat me? Suddenly, a barking sound came from behind her. A big muscular dog was running towards Miro, in his thoughts, said, "Looks like I took too long to do anything. As Miro started to run, he went to Mira's ear and said, "I bid you farewell little Mira," and then he ran "till next time."

Then Miro jumps over the fence then bolts towards the woods, and the big dog runs beside Mira and guides her back to others, "Mira! Did anything happen to you! Are you hurt? Did that damn wolf do anything to you?"

"No! The wolf didn't harm me at all; we just talked."

"Talk? What do you mean you two talked? Don't talk and don't trust the wolf. They're all dangerous, and There are sly and cunning. Come now, let's get back to the others." While they were walking away, Miro wasn't far away and wondered why I had to come?

Two days have passed since Mira went into the field and wonders, What if he came back? What will he do, and what will he say? She kept wondering until she got a headache.

Miro was pacing back and forth-wondering, "where is she? Where did she go? Did I scare her away...? Damn it?! Why am I so worried about a ewe?!"

Of all things he was worried about was Mira. So he starts to walk deeper and deeper into the woods. Until he ran into a pack of wolves- "What are you doing here? These are my woods! Turn around and go back to your grounds before I sink my teeth into your fleshes." The wolves looked at each other and started laughing, "You don't know who we are, don't you?"

"I don't care who you are; this is my territory. Leave now or pay with your lives." Then, the wolves laughed even harder at Miro. In an instant, they all stopped laughing and spread apart as a massive beast of an animal appeared in a powerful voice, "Why have we stopped? Who is this cub in front of me?"

Miro looked up and thought, what kind of animal is this?

"Who are you, and why have you stopped us proceeding here?"

Miro introduced himself, "My name is Miro, and this is my woods. Don't get any closer or else." The behemoth just laughed with a crackling sound, "So you think you can threaten my pack and me?" He turned around and slowly signaled four wolves to kill Miro.

Growling and lunging at Miro, left and right biting, clawing him, but Miro didn't let in as he took down the four wolves. But, the behemoth signals more wolves to attack Miro. Miro knew he was not going to win this fight. The wolves tore into Miro's flesh and threw him to the ground, so Miro got up, then started backing away from the wolves and ran. They gave chase until the behemoth roared for them to stop. "This is my woods now!"

Miro was still running, and blood was leaking out of his wounds. I'm not going to make it.

He kept running until he couldn't move another step. It was late at night, Miro was on the ground panting and gasping for air as darkness started creeping up at his sight, and he looked up. He then howls towards a moonless sky and passes out. In deep thought in his mind, waiting for the last breath Miro makes, then closes his eyes, but then hears footsteps walking towards him, and his eyes are slowly opening. There was a faint voice as he tried to look and get away, but he couldn't.

"I heard that howl before..." in a stuttering voice. "Is that you, Miro?"

"Mira....?"

Mira started to come closer towards Miro, "Why are you here? Are you here to eat me or toy with me?" Miro was now wondering why she was out so late trying to speak to me without being out of tune.

"It's dangerous here at night, Mira."

"It's night already? Wow, I thought it was a long thick cloud. I was wondering why I wasn't burning up. His wounds were still leaking in a painful grunt as he tried to speak.

"You're not that bright, are you?" Mira starts to pout, "Why are you here? And what is that smell? It smells awful- it smells like hmm..." She starts to stroll towards Miro and sniffs. "It smells like bb-blood?! You killed another ewe, didn't you?!" \

No words but silence. "Didn't you!?" She demanded until she stepped closer and accidentally stepped on Miro's front paw and his grunts. "Wait... what is this?"

"It's me... I'm dying here."

The wind blew silently.

Mira muttered, "Dying... What do you mean dying? Well, serves you right for all you have killed!"

When Mira says in a sharp tone, Miro starts coughing and speaking, "Well, if I deserve this... I would gladly accept my punishment with pride," but in his mind.

"No, this cannot end like this! What should I do?" Miro said in a worried tone. "Mira...I have a proposal."

"A-a proposal?" She blushed. What is he saying? I'm a ewe, and he's not. "Hello? Are you listening to me?" Finally, she snaps back to reality and faces him, "If you help me, I will stop eating your flock, and I will run off any intruder. But, we already have someone who does that."

"Who?" Miro asked, "Racha the sheepherder," Mira explained. Then, Miro thought of another proposal.

"I will watch over you, and I'll be your eyes and your protector." As Miro committed, "If I get back on my feet after that, who knows, I might not eat you. Do we have a deal?"

"You promise not to eat me or the others while you are in my care?" "I promise." with a grin curl on his lips.

"But where should I put you? First, of course, you can't live with us, but there is an abandoned shed across this field." "Which direction? Is it five feet away?" Miro questioned weakly.

"I think it is." She guessed.

Mira didn't know what to grab at first, but she grabbed Miro's tail and dragged him until he was into the shed. "You're heavy," she was poking around the shed until she found something to wrap Miro around with something.

"There...all done. I did pretty well, didn't I?"

But, Miro had already passed out and was snoring. Hmm, short sleeper, I wonder what happened to him?
