When he turns around seeing the bandage soak with blood, going immediately and removing the bandage, seeing a few specks of steel flakes.
Thinking to himself, 'I am sure it has some more inside her foot.' saying to Alex, "Alex, please don't forget to bring her in for an x-ray as soon as possible and here."
Taking out some bandage giving it to him, "This is just-in-case she needs the dressing to change."
Walking him to the gate Alex said, "I will call just-in-case anything crop-up."
"Yes, please do that."
Turning around only to see Ken taking out a box from his car, then hearing a taxi stop at the gate.
Alex turns around seeing Melissa alight the taxi, 'Oh dear God, with Diandra friend here, I only hope Melissa doesn't divulge anything about our marriage to him.'
Noticing the box as the taxi driver took it out of the trunk, and the cake. going to her assistance. Saying to her, "Melissa, you didn't have to do that, the restaurant would have willing done the delivery for me?"
"I know Boss, but I wanted to see how the madam was doing." Seeing her enters through the gate and Ken was looking at us, whispering to her.
"Her friend is here, so don't say anything that will reveal that Diandra is my wife, he doesn't know anything about our relationship."
Saying out loud enough for Ken to hear, "Melissa, your family must be anxiously waiting for you?"
"Don't worry Boss, I already call home and explain what was happening, so Rick will be coming for me." Then in a whisper she said, "Now, I need you to explain something to me."
"What's that?"
"You said something earlier that was really disturbing to me, Boss you said the Madam cannot use the phone, and she is illiterate were you joking, or is that true?"
"That is true, but it is alright, remember once I told you it was my fault that my marriage was a failure.
Well this was one of the reasons for that separation. We haven't seen each other in the four years since our separation.
It was only when we met last week I realized that I still love her and these few days we have spent together, and so many things have changed from then to now.
I feel so differently from how we used to when we had gotten married. I had loved her then, but I was also so young and foolish, and could not handle her illiteracy and a few other things.
Now those things don't bother me any longer, especially the way I feel about her now."

Alex realized this was one of her secrets from her friends, "Yes, today is Diandra's birthday."
Looking at Alex then ask, "Did, she tell you it's her birthday?"

Alex sees the disappointment on his face, well it's more like hurt when he said, "In all the years we have known each other, she never once whispered a word to us.
I don't think even Sam and Maria knows when her birthday is?"
"Did they call as yet?" Hoping the question will be a distraction.
"No, they must have forgotten, I only hope nothing happens to Sam again."
"I am glad but they will call and as you said, they must have forgotten, or being caught up with something and lost track of time."
Ken wanted to know what Diandra had divulged about herself asking, "Have she told you about her friends?"
"Oh, it was just a few things when her friend Sam got sick."
"Well never mind it seems she have told you enough."
"Why do you say that Ken? Is there more I should know?"
Hearing her groan then she held on to Ken's hand, "Dee, my God you have awakened, you had me so worried."
Feeling her squeeze his hand, "I want some water please." Seeing Alex leave immediately then she signal Melissa to come saying to her, "My clothes are downstairs will you secure them for me please?"
Alone in the room with Ken whispering to him, "Please don't reveal anything to Alex, you will sell me out."
Before he could reply to Diandra, Alex bolt through the door with a glass and two bottles of water in his hand, hurrying to her, "Here you go."
Alex lifts her slightly to a sitting position so she could drink, the water, then he asks "How are you feeling now?"
"Like hell, and I am feeling so tired."
"You were always so careful when you cleaning up, so how did you manage to damage your foot?"
Alex notices how her eyelid close, slowly not responding to him, he then rest her down gently.
When Ken's phone rings, Alex sees when she opens her eyes, She must have thought it was her friend.
Overhearing his conversation, Alex realizes it must be Beverly, she must have really taken my advice, 'Well good for her.'
Hearing him saying he was okay and will be home soon," then he switched off.
Seeing him bend and kiss Diandra on the cheek and said, "I have to go, but I will call tomorrow.
And Dee, I brought you the doughnuts, so don't go eating all one time, the doctor said not too many sweets.
Also, Alex have already gotten you a birthday cake as you can see, so tomorrow you could eat the doughnuts."
Holding his hands and in just a whisper she said, "Ken, thank you so much for coming, and for the doughnuts but I will do as you say.
As you can see, right now the way I am feeling I don't think I will enjoy anything? I just want to close my eyes."
"Hear what from what you are saying you are in no condition to speak with Sam and Maria so I am switching off the phone.
Look if there is anything important they will leave a message or they will call me."
Ken then rest the phone by the bedside table, saying to her, Tomorrow, when you are feeling better you can speak with them when they call you."
Bending he kiss her cheeks, saying, "Happy Birthday Sis, I love you."
"Thank you again Ken, and I love you to, bye," waving as he walks out the door.
