Chapter 10 - DIANDRA WAS AFRAID HER HOUSE WAS BEING WATCHED

Peeping through the window, Diandra felt this fear, recalling what the teacher had said.

As fear build up, Diandra shift the curtain slightly thinking, 'It has been almost an hour already since the vehicle had parked up. Is this person watching my house?'

Afraid to venture out the door, Diandra observed that the vehicle was unmarked.

'The teacher said, that there were strange vehicles parked near the school compound.

Are they targeting my child? Is this one of the vehicle, oh God has they followed the school bus home and is now watching my house?

Oh Father you know it is only the two off us in the house, please protects us, my Lord. If only I could see who is the person in the van?'

Leaning on the wall shifting the curtain aside, it has already been an hour since the vehicle is parked there.

As the minutes pass slowly fear builds up thinking that, 'Maria will come in a while with Joash.'

Time passed like a snail, unable to wait for the vehicle to move away for the fear has escalated,

Unable to wait any longer Diandra call the police, stating her concern seeing two hours has already gone by, hoping they will respond speedily.

Shifting the curtain just a notch, peeping through the window once more knowing Maria will come the next half an hour. "Good Lord," seeing them coming, "Lord I cover him with your blood."

As they get closer to the house, leaving the window, Diandra ran to the front door opening it quickly then lock it behind them.

Stooping down she kiss him, "Were you a good boy today?" Seeing the nodded. "Thanks, Maria, I thought you might come a bit later"

"Is something bothering you Dee, you seem tense and a bit anxious?"

"No, no I just return a while ago and feeling a bit tired."

"How was your trip to Brixton?"

"Productive, after I planted the roses, I visited Ken, we work for two hours then I took the train, I got delayed because the bus runs a bit late.

Come let us drink a cup of tea or would you prefer something cold?"

"Sorry Dee, I have to go, Sam is a bit under the weather." Opening the front door seeing the Police, Maria step back inside. "Dee there's a Police vehicle on the road."

"Thank God they are here."

"Did you call them Dee?"

"Yes, the teacher send a note informing me that there's a few strange looking vehicles and faces around the school compound.

Maria since I reach home that van came and parked up about fifteen minutes later. I am just being careful."

Both looking out the window as the Officer went to the vehicle after a few minutes when they see the vehicle drive away Diandra went and open the door.

Seeing the Police Officer approaching the house then said, "Good afternoon Ma'am did you made the call?"

"Good afternoon Officer, yes I did Sir, and thank you for responding so quickly."

"That's our job, but you don't have to worry the gentleman was tired and was sleeping when I went to his vehicle. Do you have children?"

"I have a child."

"I understand and you don't have to worry, we already got a report from the teachers from the Pre- School, so we are on the alert, now you can rest assured your child will be safe."

"Thank you, Officer and you have a bless day." Maria also leave as soon as the officer leave.

Locking the door, Diandra holds his tiny hand in hers, "Did you enjoy playing with grandpa?"

"Yes, mummy,"

In the kitchen placing the bag in his hand, "You can take a snack Champ." Noticing him yawning, "Champ don't you want a snack?" seeing him shakes his head.

"Okay, come on then, mummy will give you a bath and put her baby to sleep. "

"Mummy, I am not a baby, Granpa says I am a big boy."

"Okay, my precious boy, what else did grandpa say to you?"

"He said I getting big?"

Looking at him sleep, "You are all that I have from my marriage, you are my pride and joy if something were to happen to you, I don't know what I will do."

Passing her hand over his head as the few strands of hair remain on his face. "Your hair grows so fast as his, you will need a hair cut soon my little one."

Stroking his face, "You looks so peaceful, Alex had the same blond color hair,' recalling the times she left his house.

'I can't believe four years has passed so quickly, the last I saw him was the day I left Brixton. I wonder what has become of him, has he remarried or living with someone?"

Turning aside folding the few pieces of clothes from the basket, "I must thank God, he has no idea of you, if he only knows of your existence I know he will fight for custody.

Oh, my son every day I look at you I see him, you are so much like him, everywhere you go people tend to love you just like him.

You have the same fair complexion as him and never fussing for anything. When his mother was alive he was never a fussy person, he was loving and caring just like you.

I knew he was hurting and I didn't know how to comfort him. I was also hurting and it was very difficult for us having to bear the loss of Christina."

Sitting on the bed placing the teddy next to him, "You, my little one never fuss for anything and the way Sam and Maria love you, I don't know how I will manage when they leave for their vacation.

I know you will miss them so much, you look forward to seeing them every day and spending nights with them, I only hope I could make up for their absence."

Picking up his few toys resting it on the basket, then quietly selected his clothes for church, laying it aside on top of the crib, giving his shoes a slight polish and a shine.

In her room, she took out a beautiful lilac top and a long black skirt, selecting the jewelry to match up, with clips and ribbons for her hair.
