In the past, the eldest and the youngest of the siblings were entrusted to befriend a scheming family with twins that had a habit of pulling at the invisible strings like puppet masters in order to get what they want. Their mother wanted to spend some time with Sierra, but she insisted on going with her brothers to 'play' with the sinister twins, having a feeling that something was off between her older and younger brothers.
You see, before the twins moved in, the siblings had met a very dangerous man who threatened the very state of their home and in having a hot-headed younger brother, who did not take threats lightly, wanted to face him head on in order to protect his home and family. What she didn't know, was that her brothers had made a pact.. that pact was Shaun would cover for the youngest of the siblings while he dealt with the vile man, and would not tell their parents nor his sister of his true whereabouts.
When Sierra arrived at the large crystal mansion surrounded by an icy ocean, meeting with her elder brother she glanced around before asking,
"Shaun, where's Michael? I thought he was with you..."
"And I thought mother wanted to have you for the day." He replied with a smirk, causing his sister to flush. "I insisted on coming here with you and our younger brother, but he isn't here..." She murmured the last part of her sentence. Shaun chuckled and shook his head.
"He had something to take care of.. If he's gone too long, I'll go look for him." He reassured his sister. Since knocking on the large doors wasn't part of their plan, Sierra shifted into her small penguin form and got a boost from her brother, as she jumped into the small opening above the doors, thus finding her way into the mansion. The entrance room was built with white marble walls, floor tiles, and pillars on each side, making her head spin momentarily- even the twins staircases leading to the east and west hallways were marble! Her head calmed down just in time to find the twins bickering about playing a game of hide and seek in the basement. Shaun remained in his human form and made haste to scale the large building up to the roof without being detected.
"Playing with you is boring! You always find me!" The twin wearing a lighter colored Lolita styled dress complained.
"You could always hide in the basement, dear sister." The other twin, wearing a darker colored Lolita styled dress cooed as if mocking her sister.
"I'll play with you, I don't mind hiding in a basement." Sierra spoke up, since she had reverted back. Twins blinked and glanced at her, then slowly approached the intruder, clearing surprised by her arrival. Who was this woman, and how did she get inside? No matter, the twin girls shared a glance then looked at the woman in front of them.
"Very well-" The twin in the lighter dress voiced, glancing at her sister once more.
"-You can hide, and we'll try to find you." The twin wearing the darker dress voiced.
"We'll count to fifteen, hide wherever you want." They voiced in union, giving her free reign over their home. Sierra nodded and waited for the girls to begin counting aloud before going and looking for a suitable place to hide. She found her way down to their basement and hid within there, knowing that they would search there for her first since that's the discussion that started this game of hide and seek. Well, befriending them seemed easy enough, seeing how they already invited her to play a game with them, even though she was not truly welcome. At the end of their counting, the twins called "ready or not here we come!" in union before beginning their search for their new 'friend' and they first made their way to the basement.
"Evelyn, wait here since you don't like the basement. I'll look for her." The twin dressed in darker coloring said to her sister.
"Are you sure, Luna? I don't mind.." Evelyn asked in a murmur, fiddling with the ruffles of her light-colored Lolita dress. Luna ran her fingers thought her long brown hair and shook her head at her sister's hesitant question.
"Finding her won't take any time, trust me." Luna answered in a sweetly poisoned voice. Now it was certain her sister was up to something, and Evelyn simply nodded. Sierra stayed silent where she hid, only smirking at learning their names. It was easy to tell who was who, and she found the names fitting for the twins. Shaun had found a way to slip into the dark basement unnoticed, and made his way to his sister.
"What're you doing?" He asked in a whisper, since it was obvious that Sierra was hiding for whatever reason. She blinked and glanced at her brother for a moment before her eyes softened. She could tell he was growing worried for their younger brother. Shaun wasn't the type to admit to his feelings though, preferring to act as a hard-ass who didn't have feelings for his siblings or the few friends he had managed to make over the years.
"He should be back by now.. shouldn't he?" Sierra asked in a concerned whisper. The basement made their voices echo, so it kind of gave her an advantage against the seeking twin. Shaun didn't answer, he only crossed his arms over his chest and looked down at the ground beneath him.
"I'm going to look for him, you should spend what time you can with mother." He said to her in a low voice, sending a yellow flag up in his words. Something wasn't right... Sierra nodded to her brother and shifted into her penguin and snuck passed Luna, and hopped through the opening above the large doors of the mansion, like when she entered. She then slid across the thin ice on her belly and dove into the refreshing ocean, making a zip line towards home.
Upon seeing the twin dressed in a darker-colored Lolita-styled dress, Shaun tried to relax as to not seem suspicious.
"Oh, are you here to play with us?" Luna asked him, her eyes were glowing red as she gazed at him. Shaun grit his teeth and grabbed the girl by her neck, her eyes widening.
"Listen to me, get your sister and hide." He said to her in a low, stern voice. Luna struggled against him, him knowing that he wasn't hurting her. His grip tightened slightly. "If you care for your sister, you will heed my words." Shaun said to her, dropping her and heading out to the entrance hall. Evelyn watched the man walk out of the basement, and noticed the dark look in his eyes, so she immediately hurried into the basement to check on her sister.
