Sophia's POV:
Hello everyone! I'm Sophia Bailey, the main protagonist of this story. Right now, I'm walking toward the usual spot where my friends and I like to hang out before heading to school. Since our school is pretty close to our subdivision, it's perfect to use our spare time for a little bit of dilly-dallying.
But first, let me introduce myself properly.
I have two best friends from childhood—Elaine and Janna. All of us have very different personalities, but somehow, we just get each other. The three of us grew up as neighbors, and our parents have been best friends since their college days.
Elaine and Janna are also my destined classmates—we've been together since elementary! We were classmates at Dreamland Elementary, and now we're still together at Glistening High, one of the most prestigious schools in our city. We do everything together: going to school, eating, studying, and going home.
Our classes start at 8:00, but before that, we love spending our free time under the oldest tree in our neighborhood. It's our little spot to chat, listen to music, and just relax. The view is nice and calming, which makes it perfect for starting the day comfortably.
The three of us are in Section 1, also called the "Star Section." Only the students with the highest grades make it into Section 1. Our school ranks students strictly, and class sections are based on academic performance—Section 1 for the top, Section 10 for the lowest.
Oh, and just so you know, despite my age, I can be really childish sometimes, so please bear with me if I have a few embarrassing moments along the way.
Before I realized it, I was already near our usual hangout spot. I could clearly see Elaine and Janna waving at me. I ran straight to them, excited to chat about how much I was looking forward to our first day of high school.
