Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: A Little Celebration

Aurora naturally knew that Ethan's words were meant for her to hear.

Goddess?

Isabelle?

Oh my gosh, beauty really is in the eye of the beholder... what kind of taste does he have...

The elevator arrived, and Aurora was the first to step out.

Ethan saw Aurora walk to the door of apartment 2101, his eyes widening, "Maverick, she lives next to you? Be careful!"

Women these days are quite crazy, who knows what bizarre things they might do!

Ethan started brainstorming, "I read a piece of news a few days ago about a fan who used all sorts of tactics to get close to their idol... this woman might have planned it all out, then deliberately got close to Timothy, looking for a chance to get near Maverick. Holy crap, that's terrifying!"

Using a child's innocence, utterly despicable!

Aurora rolled her eyes speechlessly, with imagination like that, why not write novels?

She finished entering the code and went inside.

"Sister Bai isn't like that!" Timothy always stood up for Aurora.

Ethan pinched his chin, surprised that Timothy was so protective of a woman he'd just met.

Seems like this woman has some skills!

They entered the house.

Jace saw Ethan still lost in thought, he smirked, "Who's your goddess again?"

"Autumn, she's my goddess!" Talking about her made Ethan's face light up with excitement, "She transferred to Trident University today, now I'll have a chance to meet her!"

"Do you know who the girl you've been criticizing was just now?"

"Who?"

"Autumn."

"..."

!!!

Ethan's mouth fell open, "Jace, don't fool me!!"

Jace raised an eyebrow slightly, "You can't be a real fan."

"Yeah, yeah, Sister Bai goes by that name." Timothy chimed in.

Ethan nearly burst into tears, looking at Maverick, "Maverick, my goddess moved next to you, why didn't you tell me, why didn't you stop me just now???"

Now I've offended my goddess.

Ahhh—

To brush past a goddess and even speak rudely to her...

I don't want to live anymore!

Maverick responded casually, "I didn't know who your goddess was."

Alright, Ethan sighed, Maverick never paid attention to these things.

Why is my life so miserable!

"You said just now, she transferred to Trident University?" Jace caught onto the detail.

"Yeah, music department." Ethan was dejected.

Jace fished out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, biting one between his lips, lighting it with a flick of his lighter, "From the looks of her, she seems to have recovered, but choosing music, she's got guts."

Maverick asked nonchalantly, "What about it?"

"My goddess studied management and finance, but she once said she was interested in music. Now that she's recovered from her injury, she's choosing to pursue her dream, I believe in her!" Ethan clenched his fist.

Jace laughed, "She's tone-deaf, having dreams is great, but forcing something without talent is just a joke."

Maverick squinted his eyes slightly, the tone of Aurora's voice sounded quite nice, pleasant.

Tone-deaf?

What a pity.

Jace, with a cigarette in his mouth, looked somewhat mysterious in the smoke.

It's the first time I've seen Maverick take an interest in a woman.

Considering what Timothy said about a potential girlfriend...

Could there be something going on?

Jace tapped the cigarette lightly, ash falling rhythmically with his movements, "Ethan, buy a big firework for tomorrow."

Ethan hadn't yet emerged from the shadow, "For what?"

"To celebrate, perhaps Maverick might straighten out."
