Zabuza had been busy fighting Kakashi and some of the chunin shinobi that had been with him, rushing off and leaving Kakuzu to deal with the rest of the riff-raff. Unfortunately for the rest of the Leaf's forces, Kakuzu was not someone who was going to play around with them.
"That idiot," Kakuzu said, watching Zabuza while he ran off to fight.
I guess that leaves me to clean up this mess. I'm going to kill him after this is done. He said to himself, turning his attention to the other Leaf forces.
"Who the hell is this guy?" Iseto Uchiha said, hoping that one of the others might recognize him.
"I'm not sure, but the fact he has one of those cloaks on means he has a flee-on-sight order..." Another said.
"Flee on sight?" Iseto asked, turning his head back to look at Kakuzu, feeling the fear setting into his body before he remembered the order list that had come out in the bingo book.
"How are we going to get out of this?" Another said, seeing that the others weren't doing well as Zabuza ripped through them on the other side of the battlefield.
"None of you are going anywhere." Kakuzu suddenly said as he started walking forwards.
"No way, if we all attack together, there is no way he can defeat us!" One of the older chunin said, trying to rally the others.
"Yeah, come on everyone, let's attack!" Another said, cheering.
Iseto agreed and started forming hand signs not wasting any time.
"Fire style, fireball jutsu!" He said, leading the charge as he fired his jutsu head-on.
Others quickly did the same, throwing a barrage of different fire and wind-style jutsu, with some also throwing projectiles, coordinating their attacks to try and take Kakuzu down with one hit.
Kakuzu was almost impressed as he allowed his earth style to cover his body, making it hard as steel so that he could tank all of their attacks effortlessly.
Iseto's and the other's fire styles hit home, exploding on impact, creating a large poof of black smoke. Next, the projectiles did the same, with the sound of them clashing ringing through the air before it finally went silent.
"Alright, we got him!" Iseto said trying to get a view through the smoke.
"Is that all..." Kakuzu said, appearing as the dust faded, revealing that he was unharmed.
"He doesn't have a scratch on him!" One of the chunin said, shocked.
"No way, who the hell is this guy?" Iseto said.
"Allow me to show you a real fire style," Kakuzu said, placing his hands together before something started to wriggle and bulge under his cloak.
"W-what in the world is that!" One of the Leaf ninja said, watching in horror while two large creatures made their way out of the back of Kakuzu's cloak, having black bodies with masks on their head.
"Fire style..." Kakuzu started, placing his hands into a tiger seal.
"Look out, it's some sort of jutsu!" Iseto said, having already activated his Sharingan to try and see what was going on.
"Searing migraine!" Kakuzu yelled, launching both a wind style and a fire style at the same time, using both chakra natures to make the other stronger.
A wall of fire roared to life as the two masked creatures unleashed the jutsu. Iseto and the others could only watch in frightfulness as it travelled towards them, burning the forest, destroying everything in its path.
"Now all together! Water style, water wall!" A familiar voice said, coming from behind Iseto and the other Leaf shinobi.
Ten waterfall ninja suddenly landed in front of them, shooting a large quantity of water from their mouth to create a barrier from the fire style.
"Looks like we got here just in time." Hisen, the leader of the Waterfall village said, looking towards Kakuzu and noticing the headband on his forehead.
"You..."
"Lightning blade!" Kakashi yelled, thrusting forwards toward Zabuza as he aimed to pierce through his chest and finish him.
Zabuza had been trapped in an earth-style jutsu, cursing himself for falling for such a cheap trick while he tried his very best to break free.
The ground had trapped both of his legs, making its way up to his hips now holding him in place.
Zabuza was also holding off one of the chunin who had been brave enough to get in the way of his attack to protect Kakashi, now giving him enough time to attack.
"This isn't good, I'm not going to die like this!" Zabuza yelled, letting his demon aura and chakra flare to life, becoming visible to those around him.
The chunin who was trying to hold him back felt the sudden increase in his strength, being blown back from the pressure alone.
"No, he's breaking free!" The chunin who was holding the earth style yelled, not being able to trap the demon any longer.
Zabuza didn't even have a second to spare, seeing that Kakashi was about to thrust his jutsu into his chest. Zabuza knew he could only do one thing, taking the opportunity to do it without hesitation.
The sound of Kakashi's jutsu roared through the air as he made contact with Zabuza, ripping straight through his midsection.
Blood splattered all over including on Kakashi's face, this time letting him know he had hit him.
"I got you," Kakashi said, looking into the demon's eyes.
"No Kakashi... I got you!" Zabuza said, giving out a menacing chuckle.
Kakashi's eyes opened wide in shock when water suddenly burst out around them, trapping both of them in a prison of water before Zabuza kicked Kakashi off of him, bursting free of his own jutsu and leaving the copy ninja trapped inside.
Kakashi felt his hand pull out of Zabuza's body, seeing the blood mix into the water.
I got him... But how is he still alive? Kakashi asked himself, trying to think what had happened.
Zabuza could feel the pain from the wound that Kakashi had given him. He knew there was no way of avoiding the attack, giving him the only option of shifting his body just far enough to avoid a fatal blow.
Still, even though the attack hadn't killed him in one go if he didn't tend to it quickly, it would soon do so.
That bastard... Zabuza said to himself, pulling the bandages down over his face to spit blood onto the floor.
"Kakashi!" One of the chunin said having watched what had happened from a distance.
"Let's finish him off while he is hurt!" The other said, clutching the hilt of his sword in hand, charging forwards to do so.
Zabuza turned his attention toward the chunin as he jumped at him, trying to slash down with all of his weight.
"Don't underestimate me!" Zabuza yelled, blocking his attack with his sword before kicking him back, landing a strong blow to the man's chest, breaking some of his ribs with the force.
"I need to get Kakashi out of this water style." The other chunin said, quickly running over to him to assess the situation.
Zabuza could see him do this and knew that if he couldn't escape before Kakashi was freed, he wouldn't be able to make it out of this situation alive.
Taking his sword in his right hand, Zabuza smashed it into the ground, allowing it to stand by itself so he could concentrate.
"I'm going to take you all out before you can get him free!" Zabuza said, pulling out a scroll that he had concealed in his Akatsuki cloak.
Zabuza opened the scroll and dropped it to the ground before placing his foot onto it and making two hand signs.
A large amount of water burst from the scroll, seeming to continue to pour out as it started flooding the area, causing both of the remaining Leaf ninja to jump into the air to avoid a small wave that was heading right for them.
Kakashi on the other hand was not so lucky, getting smashed by it while he was still trapped in the water prison, doing his best to hold on and conserve his oxygen.
"So much water..." One of the Leaf ninja said, using his chakra to stand on the surface of it.
Zabuza had stored a large quantity of water in his scroll, saving it for a time such as this, finding himself in a battle with no source of water to use as ninjutsu.
"It's over!" He then yelled, forming hand signs faster than the two Leaf ninja could think.
"Shit, this doesn't look good!"
"Oh no, we need to get out of here!" They both shouted, knowing something big was about to come.
"Water style, giant vortex jutsu!" Zabuza roared, finally finishing his hand signs, giving the water he stood on life.
The water below him started to twist and turn, forming a huge whirlpool before it burst into the air.
"Here it comes!"
"Look out!"
The water twisted and crashed shooting towards the Leaf ninja as it ripped through everything in its path. Smashing rocks and uprooting trees, nothing being safe in its wake.
Both of the Leaf ninja jumped into the air, however, the vortex was too great in size, dragging them into it before it swallowed them whole, crushing both of them with the force and power it emanated.
Kakashi was still stuck in the water prison, having sunk to the bottom of the mass of water already, using his Sharingan to see the weak points in Zabuza's jutsu.
"I've got no choice," Kakashi said, using his lightning style to burst around his body breaking free of the water prison but taking damage to himself in the process due to the water and lightning style mix.
Kakashi felt the current of the water change suddenly, knowing that Zabuza must have been doing something on the surface above.
With that, Kakashi made two hand signs, using some chakra to propel himself toward the surface of the water before he burst out for fresh air, flying into the air.
"Oh no!" He quickly said, seeing with his Sharingan that Zabuza had unleashed a powerful jutsu and that he had come face-to-face with it with no way out.
Meanwhile, Iseto and the other leaf ninja had been saved by Hisen and his men, having stopped kakuzu's fire style with a combined water wall.
Kakuzu took a good look at Hisen, who did the same to him, causing both of them to frown at one another.
"You..." Hisen said, knowing who he was.
Kakuzu did the same, remembering him from when he was a boy.
"Oh my... How time has changed you." Kakuzu said.
"Who the hell is this guy, Hisen?" One of the other Waterfall ninja asked, keeping his guard up.
"This is Kakuzu... He was once a member of our village before he committed high treason and stole the secret scroll from us." Hisen said, letting his voice boom so that all of his men could hear.
"That's him..." Some of them said, knowing the story.
"I thought he would have died years ago." Another one of the older ninjas said, seeing that he still looked young and well.
"The secret scroll was said to hold a forbidden jutsu... One that would grant the user immortality." Hisen said, also being weary of Kakuzu.
"Judging from whatever those creatures were that came from his body, I would say we are going to find out the hard way." Hisen then said, getting ready for a fight, with the surrounding shinobi doing the same.

I tried my best to do justice to the Kakashi Zabuza battle, taking insperation from both battles in the anime. Of course, Kakashi had help from an intire unit of chunin level shinobi this time, not just three genin. So, of course things played out a little different.
