Chapter 26 - Attacked

ZES'S P.O.V

Emotions. My emotions are all around. I am scared that I am gonna mess up. I am worried I am going to disappoint my people. I don't know what I am going to do if I see my brother. I know he did a lot of bad things, but he is still my big brother whom I love, and I hate that fact. I would never agree with anyone but I am a coward. I won't be able to kill anyone I love, even if they betray me, but I would be able to hurt them, though.

Pausing my thinking process, I shifted into my wolf in the ballroom. The sound of the dress ripping and the bone cracking filled my senses. Too bad, I liked the dress. Without much thought sprinted off towards my pack.

A cream colored wolf, Knox's wolf, was running on my right side, on my left side, Mae's dark brown colored wolf ran along. I could hear the sound of wings flapping, indicating Raven is with us.

What a weakling I am. If I knew how to control my powers, I could stop this attack by controlling them. Controlling pack members is easier. Controlling wolves who decided to go rogue is not something I know how to do. Rogues either leave a pack of their own will or are kicked out of a pack for a crime they committed. No werewolf has the power to control others, making it harder for me to figure out how.

I was brought back to the real world as someone pushed me, making me fall to the ground. I quickly got up and growled, baring my canines, daring my opponent, whoever dared to push me.

I noticed I was about to collide with the tree, and Knox had pushed me off. Without any comment, I sprinted towards my pack.

As I reached my pack, I nodded at Raven, and she flew towards my dad's house. I panicked as I saw my pack members still out, they are supposed to be taken to the packhouse by... by the Luna...

'Mae, Reece, and Charlotte take the pack members to safety,' I mind linked them.

I heard something coming towards me. In one swift moment, I stepped aside, making the 'something' fall on the ground. I took a better look at it. It was a syringe thingy...tranquilizer. That explains the unconscious guards.

I run towards the rogue who shot this. His eye widens as he sees me. He quickly shifts into a brown wolf. I jump on him, pinning him to the ground. He claws my right leg, leaving a gash. I growl in pain. I bare my canine and press my claws further into his neck, choking his wolf. I let out a warning growl, authority seeping. His wolf bares his neck, a sign of submission.

'You're hurt,' Knox stated through the mind link

'Nothing I can't handle,' I reply.

'bu-' I blocked him off

I order some random guards to escort this rogue to the cells. I was happy I could control one rogue. I let out a frustrated growl when I felt multiple snapping, indicating the deaths of werewolves, rogue. Even Alphas have that, but they will only know if any pack members died, but I can tell if any werewolves died.

A couple of screams and cries caught my attention. I snapped my head towards my right to only see a man carrying two unconscious kids, let me rephrase that, dragging both of them by pulling their hands. I let out a howl, choosing my prey and making others aware of it, including the man.

I run towards him, baring my canine from time to time, and I growl in pain as my right leg starts to sting from my previous injury. Ignoring the pain, I get ready to pounce on him, but when I do, I deeply regret the choice as I failed to see the silver dagger in his hand.

In a blink, the whole scenario changed. It was shocking to see the rogue lying on the ground, unconscious, and I landed safely. I was pretty sure I was about to die a few seconds ago. But I had no time to think like a detective, nor did I have the patience. I took threatening steps towards the fallen man. Four wolves surrounded me out of nowhere before I could reach the man.

Fuck. Shit. Fuck. Fuck. How am I supposed to defeat four freaking wolves? I growl, baring my canine. Even though defeating four of them is nearly impossible, giving up ain't in my dictionary. I may end up seriously injured, but I don't think thinking about the aftermath will help me in this situation.

One of the wolves jumped to attack me, but in mid air it collapsed right in front of me, whimpering. I glance at the spear that was thrown at the wolf. I turn towards my right to find Raven grinning evilly, dressed in the outfit specially made for her, with her weapons, a silver dagger, a sword, and a spear.

It was a full black suit my mom designed; it had all sorts of belts for different kinds of weapons. I don't know who my mom made it for, but it was there in a gift box addressed to me from my mom.

She took her spear back from the whimpering wolf and snapped his neck, causing me to feel the loss of a werewolf. She took her silver dagger out to attack one of the wolves surrounding me, who was distracted... these people are stupid, they come to attack a pack but get distracted easily.

One thing about rogues is that, being a lone wolf, they are good at surviving and detecting threats. Sensing Raven's presence behind him, he turns around and pounces on her. His back makes contact with the ground, and her grip on her dagger is lost.

While she was struggling not to be bitten by the wolf, a black wolf with green eyes, James's wolf, a brown wolf with some white fur, attacked the wolf that was attacking Raven. Raven stood up and walked to James's wolf, who was standing on top of the wolf with his chest puffed out. Raven petted him as a thank you while he had a wolfy grin on his face.

I pounced on the wolf on my right and bit on his neck while he was distracted. The taste of blood was in my mouth. His groans and growls of pain were a sight to see. His attempts to free himself and attack me were a failure. I quickly glance at the other two wolves standing...technically one, because one was attacked by Mae.

'I saved your ass,' Mae stated through the mind link. I could imagine her grinning.

I internally roll my eyes.

'I can imagine you rolling your eyes, stop,' Mae stated. She knows me too well.

Using my energy, I sink my canine further into Wolf's neck, getting a firm grip and throwing him onto the wolf who had stepped forward to attack me.

Using my energy, I sink my canine further into Wolf's neck, getting a firm grip and throwing him onto the wolf who had stepped forward to attack me.

I look around cautiously to find if any rogues were left. When I found none, I walked towards the fallen man. A light brown wolf stood next to me, which I knew was my dad. He nodded at me, signaling he had this situation handled.

I growl at the fallen man and walk away, limp away basically. I was heading to the packhouse still in my wolf form, but before I could get in, someone picked me up. Knox should be glad I felt the sparks, or else his head would have been ripped off.

'Let me go,' I growled through the mind link.

I noticed James hopping towards us shirtless.

"5," Both of them said while grinning.

But both of them stopped grinning when they realized they said the same number. They let out a groan. It took me time to realize they were talking about how many rogues they killed. My friends are sadists like me...lol. There were many rogue attackers, but most of them were killed by guards and the people who were capable of it. Some ran away when we reached a few rogues were only there. I guess I killed 2 and put some to unconsciousness, got no excuses for fewer kills.

"Tie again," James groaned.

"Hey Ze,s" James grinned, grabbing my injured paw without realizing, causing me to let out a growl in pain and an attempt to bite him on instinct. Luckily, he moved his hand.

'JAMES COLTON,' I growled through the mind link.

He visibly winced, making me feel bad. I jumped out of Knox's arms, causing him to growl. Ignoring him, I shifted back to my human form. It hurt a bit because of my injury, wait, no, it hurt a lot. Who am I kidding? I am sure even Knox felt the pain.

I glanced at James, who turned away, thinking I would be naked; he had never seen me shift...But I am glad he respects.

"Oooh," I said as I examined the dress.

This time it was a red ball gown. The top of the dress was filled with red flowers. It fit me perfectly till my waist, and then the rest of the dress was poofed out as it flowed down. It was off shoulder top, the sleeve ran down to the bottom.

"James, turn around, I am dressed," I smiled.

He slowly turned around, and his mouth fell open.

"I am keeping this one," I told Knox, spinning around and regretting cause of my leg.

"Red looks good on you' He chuckled.

"So the other colors don't look good on me?" I asked playfully, raising an eyebrow.

"I never said that, did I ?" He questioned back.

"Fair enough," I hummed.
