Akina's POV
Serco and I arrived on Earth together, but not long after, he had to leave.
"There's a lot that goes into planning a wedding for royalty... I know you can't help me. Whenever I can, I'll come back to see you. "That was his promise—the last thing he said before he left.
At school:
"Wow, is that a diamond ring?" one of the girls in my class, River, asked. She was pointing at the ring Serco gave me. I couldn't possibly tell her what it really was, so I said,
"Yeah."
She grabbed my hand and held it up to the light. "It's so pretty! I've never seen something like this up close. It must've cost thousands."
I pulled my hand back. "It was a gift," I mumbled.
"What? From your grandma or something? Is it a family heirloom?"
I shook my head.
"Then what?"
"My… boyfriend gave it to me. It's an engagement ring." I answered quietly.
"You're engaged?!" She shouted.
