BLACK lines appeared on both Valentine's and Wulfric's faces. It was like watching two people get hit with the exact same awful news at the exact same time. Their expressions twisted in sync, mouths pulling down, brows furrowing, eyes narrowing in shared disgust. Valentine looked like he had just swallowed a lemon. Wulfric looked like he had bitten into something rotten and could not spit it out. Then they let go of each other's collar at the exact same moment.
"Yeah, you interrupted me beating Davis to a pulp," Wulfric said, clearly annoyed.
Valentine let out a short, humorless laugh. "Yeah, right. Beating me to a pulp. Because that's all you know, isn't it? Solving every problem with your fists."
Wulfric turned a sharp glare on him. "At least I'm honest with my feelings. If I love someone, everyone can tell. Not like some people who act so annoying and greasy that no one can even tell they're actually in love."
