The man then held Isabella's wrist and tried to drag her out of the house.
Isabella tried to pull her arm out of the man's grip but she couldn't fight against him. She could only go with him afraid he would do something to her daughter if she irked him.
"Let me go. I'll come by myself"
Isabella then grabbed her child's arm and walked out of the house. She stood with the man on one side and her child on the other.
To the bystanders, they looked like a happy family of three. Only Isabella knew the catastrophic relationship between them.
Soon a black car came forward to pick them up and dropped them at a nearby restaurant. Isabella didn't understand what plot the man was laying.
Though she had her own fears, she didn't want him to notice them. She wouldn't let her inner emotions to surface and give him a chance to play with her. It wasn't a matter of her pride but peace.
Who knows what he would do if he noticed her turmoil of emotions? Giving herself away at the moment was very bad, when her child was still next to her.
Isabella silently sat at the table shown to her.
The little girl followed her mother and sat obediently, without troubling her mother like how most kids of her age do. She stayed still but her chubby face clearly expressed her inner emotions. Her face looked red, like an angry chipmunk.
She didn't know what exactly happened before she was born as her mother never told her. But she noticed her mother cursing this man every time he appeared on TV and guessed he was the one who caused more pain to her mother than any other person.
Soon, a middle-aged man entered the restaurant and walked towards the table.
He sat down silently and opened his briefcase. He then took out a file and handed it to Isabella.
Isabella was baffled when she looked at the contents of the papers.
" George Romano... what do you mean by this?"
'In addition to ruining my life, they are also trying to snatch everything, to the last penny from me. Shameless' Isabella felt her eyes became wet.
The little girl didn't know what those papers were and decided to take a look. She peeped at the title on the papers from the corner of her eye. She noticed the words 'Property' and 'Transfer' but didn't know what they meant.
"Sign them and I'll let you go" Mr. Romano said with his deep gaze focused on Isabella.
The little girl immediately interpreted all her mother needed to do was to sign those papers and they could be free.
'Mommy, if signing these few papers allows you to get rid of this man, you better sign them' thinking that, the little girl tugged her mother's sleeve.
Noticing her daughter's actions, Isabella looked at her daughter.
"Mommy, sign them and let's get away from him. I don't want to see him like this anymore" Realizing her daughter's ability to understand the situation, Isabella was amazed. Since her daughter gave her opinion, Isabella started signing all the papers without second thought.
Those properties George was asking from her were all left to her by her maternal family.
Isabella's grandfather, Elder Min was a proud man who never allowed his family members to commit even the slightest mistakes.
However, her mother fell in love with french man Mason Dubois when she was on a vacation in Europe.
Isabella's father, Mason was a loyal person and married her mother instantly which irked Elder Min.
His elder daughter turning her back towards him and marrying an outsider made Elder Min furious. He banned his daughter from the family. Only after Isabella's birth did the old man cooled down a little.
Although he still had some hatred lingering inside him, he passed down some of his properties directly to Isabella instead of giving them to his daughter.
Even though, Isabella was of mixed race, she lived with her paternal family carrying her English name Isabella Dubois instead of her Korean name 'Min Jisoo'.
If not for the conspiracy of the Romano family, she wouldn't be suffering with nightmares every night for years. She wouldn't have been shunned by her maternal families ruthlessly.
Her maternal grandfather hated her more than how much he hated her mother. All her grandfather said to her was this one thing before throwing her out of the house.
"You should know your place and get out of Min's family. I don't want to see your face again"
And just like that, she was disowned by her maternal family.
Since she let her grandfather, Elder Min down, she lost her position as the eldest granddaughter of the Min family. But did she still want the properties given to her by Min family?
They were valuable but nothing's more valuable to her than being far away from this man.
However, if the man seated before her was only after her because of these possessions, she would give them away without a second thought if she could get away from him.
But if he had any other plans beyond grabbing these lands from her, she would fall into his trap. She had to confirm his intentions before signing the papers.
"If I transfer these lands to you, will you leave me and never disturb me again?" Isabella asked in her utmost serious voice only to hear his half hearted reply.
"Well, not until you..." Mr. Romano gave a smirk and continued "spend a night with me"
"....."
'I know this bastard would say something like this' Isabella thought with fire building up in her heart.
"You do know no man would want to meet a woman like you. It's a blessing that I'm taking a fancy of you" George Romano spoke shamelessly, on noticing Isabella's face which had gone all red in anger.
"You don't have to worry about that" All Isabella could say was that single line.
As long as she's alive she would never let him touch her.
"It's not that I worry about you. I worry about your fatherless child. I'm more humane than you think. I don't mind taking in this bastard child" George said, mockingly. There's no trace of kindness on his face as he shifted his gaze from the woman towards the child.
Isabella felt disgusted when she heard him. After he had done to her, he was imagining to become her daughter's father. How infuriating?
