CHAPTER 239
A young woman stood quietly in the open doorway.
She had long peach-colored hair that flowed over one shoulder and striking violet eyes unlike any Ezekiel had ever seen.
Half of her body remained hidden behind the doorway. She wasn't entering. Only peeking cautiously and curiously.
She looked directly at Ezekiel.
The atmosphere changed almost imperceptibly.
Behind Vextral, Axel's posture straightened. Several maids lowered their heads even farther.
Vextral's jaw tightened. His fingers holding the knife stilled for the briefest moment. Without looking away from her direction, he spoke, "Axel."
The butler stepped forward immediately.
"Have her escorted back, and keep her in her room."
Axel only nodded and walked towards the direction of the door.
Before Axel could get closer, the woman spoke first.
