CHAPTER 180
Melicia and Cabril lunged at the nearest hunters with nothing but their fists. The hunters jumped back from the surprise attack.
"Stop!" Melisca screamed at them. "Please stop!" The chains bit into her wrists as she pushed herself to her feet and moved forward to meddle in their struggles but the hunters behind her held her back. She could barely breathe watching them—her parents, the people she'd longed to find, to hold, to love again—throwing themselves into a hopeless fight. "Don't hurt them!" She cried, her voice raw and desperate. "Please, don't hurt them!"
The hunters hesitated, uncertain, waiting for orders as they looked at the General from far ahead. But Melicia and Cabril didn't stop. Cabril slammed his fist into a hunter's face, as Melicia clawed at another man's arm.
"Let me go!" She cried, thrashing against their grip. But even weakened, they struggled to hold her down. "Mom! Dad! Don't hurt yourselves, please!"
