CHAPTER 86
"Hands off, Calixta." It was a simple statement. But filled with danger in its tone. "No touching." Ezekiel doesn't want to be touched by people outside of his trusted circle. And a witch's touch could be fatal if their skin was laced with poison.
Calixta wasn't affected by his action. She instantly turned her eyes to Gandrik. "You brought someone with you. Finally understood that it's dangerous for you to be alone?" Her eyes never left Gandrik. And his general did not back out of the staring contest with the witch. They both tower over her by a few inches.
"We both know you can't touch me," he reminded her. It was in their agreement a long time ago that no one would know he was immune to the witch's magic by the protection she put on him. It left a tattoo on his body as the barrier enveloped his mind and physicality. Even his trusted people didn't know it.
"But I can touch him." Calixta's eyes gleamed with excitement as she assessed Gandrik's figure.
