As soon as we were back in the mission room I noticed the bright coats staring in my direction. Ashik and I walked straight to the front of the line again. "This guy has some serious balls!" Ashik shouted as he slammed the mission paper on the desk. "It hasn't even been an hour sir, did you two by chance fail your mission?" Asked the woman from behind the desk. " No Hahaha, we have completed our task successfully. My companion here is unstoppable!!! Hahaha," Ashik shouted again. " Oh well ok, we'll send scouts to confirm your missions success, please stand by for an update," the woman from behind the desk replied.
"Ok, we will report to Commander while we wait," Ashik said as he lead me to the elevator. Once inside the elevator Ashik pulled out a flask from his pocket and took a sip. " So what's your favorite Alcohol, I can always give you free refills you know?" I asked. "This is no ordinary alcohol, my family owns alcohol mill that has the best stuff in the world."Ashik spread out his arms as he said those words. " That's pretty interesting actually, when I'm old enough I'll have to try some out," I responded. "Why wait, try some, is good for mind," Ashik said as he offered me his flask. "Haha nooo I'm not brave enough for that, thank you though," I responded hesitantly.
Once the elevator doors opened, Ashik and I were greeted by Comander Marcus who had an almost frightened look on his face.
"What have you done!" He yelled with anger but his face looked as tho he could faint from fear. "Sir?" Ashik asked confused.
" The anat base u just took off the map, I had several of our best talent holders working undercover trying to figure out what the Anat syndicate wants. Not only did you just destroy our best lead, you killed 4 of my best soldiers in the prosses." Marcus exclaimed before letting out a sigh. " But sir, isn't that something you should have put on the bounty report?" I asked while the reality slowly hit me like like a bullet going slow motion. " It was test, to see your problem solving skills. This was simply something we did not see coming," Ashik said as he offered the commander a cigarette.
" Look kid, you got a great talent. Obviously you already know your not the only version of you out there. On top of that you aren't even the stronger version. The last thing we need is you following in your failed clones footsteps," Marcus said before lighting his cigarette and blowing an o shape with the smoke.
" So I'm the original me. Your not just saying that because you don't want the clone going rogue too?" I smirked, in my mind I knew I was the original. "I don't need you to tell me, if I was the clone then what the hell did my mom do to deserve death by her own sons hands. I might not be the version who started this but I will end it." I said as I formed a cup of water, swiped the comanders cigarette, putting it out.
"Son, I get that this is a very confusing situation but Carol is still out there somewhere and you are the only person she's been in contact with. You need to decide, good or bad. The picture is clear and no one is choosing for you." As he said this alarms began to blare and the intercom system activated, " All combatants to your stations, we have incoming hostiles. I repeat man your stations".
"ANAT?" I questioned as I looked at Marcus who had already lit another cigarette.
" Yea, I guess you gotta clean up your mess before you choose your future. Don't die out there kid, you still owe me for killing my men." The comanders coat lit up as he began floating toward the elevator.
"We must go, I know another way up." Ashik said as he presses his hand to a picture of a Phoenix rising from flames. The picture disappeared as a blue scan replaced it. "Authenticated" sounded from a speaker in the frame as the wall began to slide out of view. "So dope," I blurted out as I followed Ashik to a hidden elevator.
It never ends ....
