Li Li, engrossed in playing video games, didn't notice the new message on his phone.
He had been absorbed in *The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild* all evening, playing until nine o'clock without realizing it. His stomach grumbled audibly, reminding him it was already late.
But Su Man still hadn't shown up!
Li Li frowned, grabbed his phone, and glanced at it. Only then did he see the message Su Man had sent earlier.
"What the hell…" he muttered, "You went off to work overtime, and I'm just waiting here for nothing."
These kinds of assignments are usually ongoing. For example, if Su Man was tasked with managing traffic for a particular section of road, she wouldn't just be responsible for one or two days—it would be at least a week. This week it might be Southeastern Road, and next week Northwestern Road. So if Su Man had her shift today, chances were she'd be on duty again tomorrow.
