 ---

He had finally done it. The status page showed that Aggron was a steel/grass type Pokemon. He didn't know how such a thing could be possible, but he was happy for Aggron. Axel realized now why it looked different. Why didn't it look so intimidating? Its typing had changed from steel/rock to steel/grass

But did that mean that its defense was compromised? Axel had to check on it and test its current powers, but even if its defense had been compromised, Axel didn't mind. He was not raising soldiers or robots for battle.

Due to the high pressure of saving the whole universe and accomplishing things that he could not even imagine, he had forgotten that these were not his soldiers that he had planned to protect the world. These were his friends and his brothers and sisters. These Pokemons care for him and are also worried about him.

When he came to this new realm, his Pokemons were the only ones whom he knew and could trust. He realized their importance was not only to make them a killing machine but also to make them happy.

Axel could see that Aggron was happy with it becoming a grass-type Pokemon, so it was his responsibility to be happy for it too.

One of the things that interested him was that its grass-type hidden power typing was 95% mastered. This was unprecedented. Even Mamoswine, who had fully focused on mastering its hidden type power, had not reached such a stage.

So, was this all due to the mutation? Or was it because it had become a grass-type Pokemon? There were many questions on his mind right now, but before all that, he wanted to see the new move descriptions of Aggron.

 ---

Calm mind (Lairon) (Level 40): The user will be able to manipulate inifinity energy faster

Substitute (Lairon (Level 40): Can create 2 substitutes instead of 1.

(Level 45): The substitutes have some basic consciousness in them and they can follow basic commands.

Leaf Tornado (Lairon) (Level 40): The move could now use the power of the grassy aura covering the user's body for an explosive impact.

(Level 45): Can use this explosive impact from any parts of the body, making it versatile.

Earthquake (Lairon) (Level 40): It spreads out a large area and has more power than before. Has a chance to paralyze the target.

Iron Defense (Aggron) (Level 40): Can use the move 3 times only, but after using it 3 times, the defense of the user will increase by 3 times.

Heavy Slam (Aggron) (Level 40): The speed of the user has increased, and also its jumping ability.

Iron Head (Aggron) (Level 40): The user's body will become sharp from the steel type energy, increasing its penetrating power.

Energy ball (Aggron) (Level 40): The move is faster, and the user can shoot out multiple moves at a single time.

 ---

Frankly, it status didn't look like a uncommon rank Pokemon even from Axel's standard. He was happy that it had trained a lot and received its reward.

Aggron took some time to calm down. The rush from the final evolution was quite high.

"You are now a steel/grass type Pokemon. Congrats. You can now train in grass type move as much as you want.", said Axel, patting its back.

It had become too tall for it to pat its head. Most of its body was not covered in small green thrones. One of its horns was green in color, while another was steel-colored.

"Are you ready? I want to see how powerful you have become.", said Axel, to which Aggron happily agreed.

In fact, it was raging to go and fight someone to show Axel how much it had grown.

Axel chose a rare rank Primeape to fight it. Primeape was a physical attacker while Aggron was a tank.

One would expect that the rare rank Primeape would easily win, but the battle ended in a draw. Aggron's 'Iron defense' and its 'Greater shield' were too much for it to handle. Its defense was quite high. But that was not all.

Its special type moves, specially its 'Energy ball' and 'Leaf tornado' countered Primeape's physical attack.

But Axel was also impressed with Primeape. If it was a normal Primeape, that Primeape would have lost the battle even if it was a rare rank Pokemon. But this Primeape fought not only with its hands but also with its brains.

It knew that even though Aggron was an uncommon rank Pokemon, it should not be underestimated. So, it did its best to dodge the attack when it had to and tried to parry Aggron physical moves with its shields.

Yes, this Primeape only used shield. In fact, it used two shields, one in each hand.

"Do you want me to personally train you? If you want, then you can join me.", said Axel.

For some reason, Axel found something inside this Primeape. Unlike other Primeapes, its fighting style was very different. It was a technical fighter. That was why Axel wanted it in the core team.

Pokemon POV Starts

Aggron was extremely happy about its evolution. For some unknown reason, its body felt right. It could already feel the grass type energy coursing through its veins. After the test, Axel had said that even though its defense was lower than that of a normal Aggron, its speed and its capability to use special-type attack had increased by a huge margin.

Actually, Axel was not telling a lie. Yes, its defense and special defense were really high. Higher than normal Aggron by a mile. But Axel had trained a lot of Pokemon in these years, and he knew the potential of his own. So, it could be told that when it became steel/ grass type Pokemon, its defense had been compromised.

Its defense was still higher than a normal, uncommon rank Aggron, but it was not up to his expectations.

Yet, Axel was not angry at Aggron. He was really happy, and that made Aggron feel relieved. But there was someone who was not happy.

"You think that you have won the world just because you have evolved? You need to learn a lot. You are still a kid to me."

This was Gandiva. It was flying in the sky and telling Aggron not to be arrogant as if it was delivering the gospel from the skies.

Now, Aggron knew that Gandiva was one of the strongest Pokemon in their generation, but with its evolution, its confidence had increased, but Gandiva felt that it was overconfidence.

"Fight me!!!"

Aggron took it as challenge, gave a powerful roar…

ROOOOARRR

It decided to start with 'Iron head', but that was a stupid move. Gandiva easily dodged the move while flying, and then it used 'Sunny day'. Aggron was still very overconfident.

So, it used the move 'Leaf tornado'. Now, this move was practical. It had a large area coverage, and it was deadly. But Gandiva had a smart mind. It just flew high enough at the move, didn't even hit it.

The battle ended badly. Staraptor fired up 2 'Flamethrowers', and Aggron, being now 4 times weak to fire, could not take it. This was an overpowered, rare rank Pokemon personally trained by Axel.

"You should not be so happy, and you should control your arrogance. If you were a steel/ rock type Pokemon, the fire type move would not have hurt you. If you were a steel/ rock type Pokemon, you would only have been weak to fighting, ground, and water type moves.

But now, you are four times weak to fire and 2 times weak to fighting. Don't think for a second that you have won, since you are only weak to two of the types. 4 times weak is not a joke.

How are you going to deal with fire type Pokemon now? Have you thought of it? You are now in my team and I don't want my teammates to be arrogant fools. So, cool off your head and then meet me."

Saying harsh words, Gandiva flew away, letting Aggron think about itself.

Frankly, Gandiva was lying, and it was a bit harsh. If Aggron had a normal evolution, it would have 8 resistances, 1 immunity, and 3 weaknesses, two of which were 4 times weakness.

Now, it would have 9 resistances, 1 immunity, and only two weaknesses, of which only one would be 4 times weakness.

So, by evolving to steel/ grass type Pokemon, it had become more defensive. But Gandiva didn't want its first follower to be arrogant. It was just an uncommon rank Pokemon. It had a lot to learn and a lot to achieve.

So, it decided to put it in its place.

Gandiva never took its promise of making Aggron the best grass type Pokemon in the team as a joke. It was really serious about it.

'Now, how do I convince Axel for Aggron to have grass type core. It is going to be a hassle.'

Pokemon POV end

###

"Gandiva, I agreed for it to achieve its dream of being a grass-type Pokemon, but having a grass-type core is too much. It is called a 'Iron armor Pokemon' for Arceus sake. How can it be a 'Iron armor Pokemon' if it had a grass type core?"

Axel was furious when he heard the proposal from Staraptor. The bird had become stupid!!!

A Pokemon, no matter what could not change its primal nature. Its mood and personality could be changed, its genes might also be changed due to a rare mutation, but its nature, which had been passed down from its ancestors, could not be changed.

Aggron was not called 'Iron Armor Pokemon' for nothing. It did not only looked like one, but it stats, and its fighting way and its nature also reflected it. Turning it into a grass type Pokemon would be pure stupid.

Of course, he wanted his Pokemon to choose its path of life and be happy, but giving the permission to do this would not be good for its future. Axel didn't want Aggron to regret it in the future. That was all.

'If we can change the genes, which you thought was impossible before, why can't we change the nature and the way it fights. I believe that this would be far easier than changing the DNA of a Pokemon.', proposed Gandiva.

But Axel still would not agree to it. So, Gandiva made a deal with him. Something no one could pull off.

'What if Aggron learns the basic version of 'steel soldier' before it reaches elemental rank? Then you will agree?"
