A sound of a person who had just woken up rang throughout the empty room.
"Ehh? It's morning already? I only slept for 3 hours!" the teenager yelled as he stared at the sun, shining from his window. "Tsk… It's because of those ladies… Just because they earn a little bit of money doesn't mean they had to throw a party. It's a really good decision that I didn't join them" the man said. That teenager is Satou Kazuma. He is an adventurer and a leader of a party. He is just a normal adventurer with very average skills.
"Ahhhh! What time is it?!? There is an event in the guild today! I don't wanna miss the rewards!" Kazuma quickly stood up from his bed, not even bothering tidying it up, quickly changed his pajamas to his adventurer ones, and then left the room.
"Aqua! Megumin! Darkness!" He yelled throughout the corridors. "Why are they not in their room?!?! Did they slept at the dining room again?!?" Kazuma ran in the opposite direction towards the dining room. As he opens the door, he saw his party members laying on the ground wasted.
"OI wake up!!! It's time for the event in the guild!!! We don't wanna miss the rewards!" Kazuma yelled with his very visible eyebags.
"Ehhh… Just 5 more minutes.." a blue-haired girl just murmured with her eyes closed while the others didn't seem to hear him.
"OI!! I SAID WAKE UP!!" he yelled louder this time, but it's still no use.
"You won't listen to me huh?!?! Let's see if you can stay awake with this" Kazuma went in the blue-haired girl neck and pointed his pointing finger in her back neck.
"Freeze" he chanted as the ice hit the bare skin of the girl making her yell and roll in the ground. He did the same to the other girls in the room.
"KAZUMA!! ARE YOU NUTS!?!?" A petite girl wearing mostly red garments yelled at Kazuma with her blushing face.
"Ahhh~ I want more~," the other girl moaned in a lewd way, sounding like she's in pleasure. The blue-haired girl finally stopped rolling on the ground and stood up, cracking her hands together.
"Looks like Kazuma had a death wish" she slowly walks toward him. The petite girl also did the same thing, ready to hit Kazuma, ignoring the other girl moaning on the ground. As they were about to hit him, Kazuma yelled at them.
"I'm sorry to wake up the two of you but this is important! Aqua! The guild event is today!! I told you about this yesterday! We need to sign up our name for the raffles and other things!" Kazuma explained.
"Ehh? What are you talking about" the blue haired girl, Aqua, asked confusingly.
"THE EVENT!!!!! DID YOU GUYS ALREADY FORGET ALREADY?!? WE PLANNED IT WAY LONG AGO REMEMBER?!?!?" he shouted once again. After a few seconds, they both finally remembered.
"EHH?!?! THAT IS TODAY?!?! WHY DIDN'T WAKE US UP THEN?!" the two girls said in surprise.
"I JUST DID YOU IDIOT!" he angrily said.
"Go change your clothes and go directly to the guild! Especially you Megumin! You're smelly! I'll go ahead and go to the market area to buy us breakfast." Kazuma said.
"Ohh great ide- WHAT DID YOU SAY!?!?" The petite girl, Megumin, angrily said.
"Aqua! Give me some money from our yesterday's quest reward," Kazuma said. But instead of a response, Aqua quietly looks to her side while fidgeting her fingers.
"Hey Aqua! We don't have time so hand over some cash!" he said.
"Uhmm… a-about quest reward…" she said in a low voice.
"Huh? What's with it?"
"I still didn't turn over the Wand of Gazenda to claim the reward…" she said.
"WHAT?!?!?" both Megumin and Kazuma was shocked.
"Then… How did you get all those food and alcohol last night!?! I thought you bought those with the rewards that we received!" Megumin asked.
"Uhmm… heheh... I told Bane that we will have an incoming reward so he let us get the food last night for us to pay for it later.." Aqua just let out.
Kazuma just sat down in the dining chair while putting both of his hand to his head, trying to ease the pain of his imaginary migraine.
"B-But don't worry Kazuma! We can turn it in today and get the rewards. Let's just skip breakfast." Aqua smiled as she thought she's a genius or something.
"Yesterday is the last day for that quest. It will be gone today, meaning we spent 5 days in a dungeon for nothing" Kazuma still had the same position from earlier as the imaginary migraine is slowly becoming real.
"Ehh?" Aqua's smile disappeared in her face. Megumin also is making the same face.
"Seriously?.." is the only thing Megumin can let out as she stared at Aqua.
Her eyes slowly water as she started crying. "T-That was Kazuma's fault!!! He sent me out to turn in the reward so late in nights where it's really cold!!" she reasoned. For some reason, the imaginary migraine Kazuma is experiencing gotten worse from that statement. But he had no energy to reply to her as he focuses easing his migraine with his hands.
'I don't feel so good. Am I sick?' talking to his self.
"But isn't it you who volunteered to turn it in so you can be sure that you get the exact portion of the reward that is yours?" the yellow-haired girl, Darkness, said as she no longer doing her thing.
"Uhmm.. B-But if Kazuma stopped me this wouldn't have happens!" Aqua reasoned again. Kazuma's migraine had gone worse from before, and the lack of sleep is not helping him at all. Kazuma finally moved from his position and stood up from the chair, while one of his hand in on his head.
"Well, nevermind…. It's not like it's our first time getting a debt. Let's just go to the Adventurer guild so we can join the event." He just said in a way the normal Kazuma wouldn't do. Those words surprised the 3 girls in the room. Usually, Kazuma would retort back to Aqua and would start yelling at her. But this time, he didn't fight back and just left the room quietly.
"Hey… you think Kazuma's okay?" Megumin asked.
"…..i don't know" Darkness answered.
"Don't worry it's Kazuma we're talking about. No need to worry. Let's get ready for the Christmas event now." Aqua just said as she happily hops little by little towards her room. Megumin and Darkness stared at each other for some moment and also went to their room to get ready.
Meanwhile…..
Kazuma was walking the streets of Axel, slowly reaching his destination, the Adventurers guild. He still feels the migraine from earlier and he feels his body getting heavier and warmer even though it's snowing. But he didn't bother about it and just walks and walks.. Until he reached the guild. When he went in, a huge line was already going on. As far as he can see, these lines were composed of parties signing up for the event.
Kazuma sighed. "At least I'm not late for this.." he let out as he went to the very last line and 'tried' falling in line when Luna stopped her.
"Sorry, Adventurer Kazuma. The whole party is required to be present and line together to join the Christmas event so we can sort the event efficiently. Where are your party members?"
"Ohh I see... Don't worry they are coming. They're just getting ready" Kazuma answered. His left hand is still trying to massage his migraine.
"I see... Please sit down for now while waiting for your members. We are kinda blocking the line." Luna said. Kazuma then look at his back and saw more people lining up.
"I understand. I'll sit over there" Kazuma pointed an empty table. He then bowed to Luna and went to the empty table, quickly laying his head on the table.
Kazuma closed his eyes, lay his head on the table, as he quietly waited for his party. He felt his body getting hotter now, or colder? He doesn't know himself. All he knows that he is not feeling well. But if he wants to have food for Christmas, he had to do this. He barely got money to survive for the next months. And after that bust of a quest they did few days ago, this is a huge opportunity for him.
'it's fine... Just need to close my eyes a little bit' he thought as he slowly closed his eyes. But after closing his eyes even for just a minute, he doesn't want them to open again. He just wants to sleep the whole day right now. He is so tired from the 5 days dungeon trip and no sleep last night. He didn't have breakfast too so everything just feels like sh*t for him.
'it's fine to just sleep right?' he thought to himself. 'Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness will just wake me up anyways when they arrive so maybe it's fine' he convinced himself and slept in the table.
Few hours later….
"uhmm Adventurer Kazuma… Hey wake up Adventurer Kazuma" a familiar voice woke him up.
"Hmm?~" he let out.
"It's me Luna."
"Ohh Luna… Sorry for taking a nap in your table. Did they finally come?" Kazuma asked as he washes his eyes.
"Don't worry about it. Adventurers deserve sleep" Luna said.
"But I was just taking a nap though"
"Uhmm… You've been sleeping in that table for7 hours now. I think that's not a nap. Also, your body is so ho-"
"what?!?! I've been asleep this long? Where is Aqua? Megumin? Darkness? Are they still not here?" Kazuma said.
"Yes. 3 of your members didn't show up until closing time. We even waited for an extra hour for the latecomers but your party still didn't come in time. Sorry but we're closing now" Luna apologized. The 7 hours of sleep he got just vanished as the migraine went crazy again. Kazuma hardly gripped his head with his left hand.
"Oi Kazuma are you okay?" Luna asked as he saw Kazuma sweating buckets, looking like a sh*t right now.
"Maybe you should res-"
"OII KAZUMA!! HOW WAS THE EVENT?!?" Aqua and the rest of the party finally arrived. That very specific voice was like button to Kazuma's ears, controlling the pain level of his migraine.
"Ohh look at the late party! You guys had just missed a good opportunity! There's 10 million eris on the raffle prizes. Too bad" an adventurer taunted the party that had just come.
"huh!?! What do you mean? What does he mean Kazuma? Aqua asked.
His migraine worsens in each word this blue-haired goddess release in her mouth. Kazuma didn't answered so Luna answered them instead.
"for the party to enter the event, all members must be present. You guys weren't present earlier so you didn't qualify for the event." Luna explained. Kazuma went back to his chair and sat down once again, still trying to ease that migraine.
"EHH? But we are complete now so can we sign up?" Aqua asked.
"Sorry, we closed an hour ago. Try again next year" Luna apologized.
"hahahahha! You guys really messed up this time! Your joke of a party messed up big time!" Another party present in the guild started laughing. Aqua gets embarrassed really quickly from all the humiliation she is getting.
"I-It's not my fault!" Aqua shouted. "IF it wasn't for Kazuma getting here first before us we could've gone together and signed up!" Aqua yelled. All of the attention was on Aqua now. Every single one of them was looking at them.
"Oi Aqua you're getting too fa-" Megumin was whispering something to Aqua when one of the guy in a party started talking.
"Ohh so it's Kazuma's fault! He probably is so greedy and wanted every reward for the party for himself! Too bad the rules of this event is very good against people like you! This system might be named Anti-Kazuma! Adventurer Guild, you are a GENIUS!" he yelled.
Kazuma's migraine becomes much much worse.
"Ahh, I see it all make sense now. It's Kazuma's fault" Another one from a different party said.
Kazuma gripped his head harder.
"I mean it's Kazuma after all! He is so shameless that she would use a thief skill just to get panties!"
He nows gripping his head with both of his hands.
"It must be suck having a party leader like that"

"I feel bad for the 3 girls in his party who had to endure his selfish act"
.........…
"Man maybe you girls should leave and join another party"
..................…..!!!
"Kazutrash…. Kazutrash… Kazutrash"

"SHUT THE FUCK UPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!@#@#%@#%!"
Kazuma stood up as he slammed his right hand into the table, silencing everybody.
"YOU GUYS HATE ME THIS MUCH?!? FINE! FUCK YOU ALL TOO!" Kazuma kicked the table and slowly walk towards the exit, still not separating his left hand and his head.
Everybody became silent after that huge uproar from Kazuma. I mean they are used to bantering and teasing each other around so they thought it's nothing different this time. Most of them are used to this. Many people including girls would badmouth Kazuma when he does something weird and he would just yell back out of embarrassment. But all of them know quite well…..
That yell from now is not from embarrassment….. but from hatred.
All of them saw a side of Kazuma they thought never exist.
But deep inside them, most of them know that…..
Everyone has a limit...
Even the most brand new fuse still had a chance to explode….
And how right they were...
