Chapter 3 - A Visit

After inviting the guests to the living room and giving them snacks, Kira ran upstairs to get the unit and bring them downstairs to talk with the 2 influential people sitting on their grey couch, munching on low-fat snicker doodles.

General Marks Sinier Turn, is the Commander of the Letters branch and 2nd in command of the entire Gen A army. He himself has no actual abilities, but understands the basics enough to now what needs to be done and who can do it.

"So, General Turn and President Mores, to what honor do I owe this visit?" Asked Kira, sitting down at the edge of the couch.

"We just wanted to see how you kids were settling in. You know that we want to make sure all our soldiers are comfortable and relaxed," Said President Mores. "to make up for the details of your job."

President Timothy Mores, is one of the 8 heads of 'Terra'; the result of unity among all the 8 continents on Earth. Mores is one of the more likable members. He's not ignorant to the fact that all Gen A's are kids and they can't and won't do everything you want them to. They were normal humans, just a bit better.

"Well, were doing well, as you can see." Responds Kira. "But I don't think that's the only reason you came."

"You're right, its not." Admitted General Turn.

"We have a mission for you."

All ten of the kids sighed.

"All ready? I just got my nails done!" Complained Pax.

"At least give us a day of rest!" Grumbled Zak.

"I don't want to!" Yelled Hede.

The rest looked extremely disappointed.

"Look, I know it's not ideal," Started General Turn. "But that's just how this works. There's no rest if you want to protect humanity."

"No reward either." Javes mumbled under his breath. He got a jab in the shoulder from Mason for that.

"That's nice and all but your not telling us the whole story. Two people as important as yourselves wouldn't just show up to announce that we have a mission. You'd most likely send a detailed email." Insisted Kira.

"What's the catch?"

General Turn shook his head. "Always so sharp."

President Mores spoke up. "This Wednesday, Mr. Turn and I need to attend a convention and we need escorts who are capable to keep us safe and unharmed the whole time there. We thought we would need an elite team"

"Where?" Asked Helix.

General Turn and President Mores frowned. General Turn leaned in.

"Carmala in Amerc."

Everyone sighed, once again.

Carmala is the name of two regions; one in Asi, the other in Amerc. The Carmala in Asi is one of the only parts of the world with natural trees growing in it, so it is taken care of by all. Its a tourist attraction and an all around beautiful place.

The Carmala in Amerc, on the other hand is, not nearly as nice as the one in Asi. Back in 2XXX, Terra had a secret operation where they tried to make weapons strong enough to defeat the aliens invading earth.

The operation ended when one of the energy tanks leaked and caused a massive explosion, killing 13 researchers and severely injuring 15 others. The aftershock and radiation left by the explosion basically destroyed the land, killed all animals and Carmala was reduced to a wasteland, no inhabitants, no anything.

But that's what made it a perfect place for important people to meet. As well as outlaws and aliens.

"There's a battle that's going to happen sometime next month and we need to finalize some things before it happens. We also need some information on possible strategies in which we utilize the Gen A soldiers, which is also another reason for this invitation." General Turn stated, leaning into the couch.

"So were bodyguards and strategists?" Mason asked, exasperated. "We just don't get a break, huh?"

"Sorry to do this unannounced, but it's important." Said President Mores. "You'll be rewarded, I- "

"I know we'll be rewarded, and we'll do both the mission and escort," Declared Kira, giving into the offer. "But, can you make sure the reward is par to how dangerous the job were doing is?"

"Yes, yes of course."

"Then, I think we got ourselves a deal gentlemen." Said Kira, sticking out her hand.

-------

After the two big shots left, the unit got ready for their mission set for tomorrow. First they worked out in the gym for about 2 hours, then took showers and got out their official Sub-Z uniform, which they got a week before they left home.

It was a brown, mini jacket made of the materials: leather and Arkri (a strong material that is basically bulletproof and can take lots of attacks like virtually anything sharp or coming at a fast speed without penetrating the fabric and killing the wearer) with the Gen A crest on the back (the Earth surrounded by 8 stars) with a tight fitting black Spandex shirt with Arkri weaved into it underneath the jacket. The pants were black shorts that were mostly made of Kevlar and Nomex, with a bit of Arkri mixed in and reached the calf. The shoes were simple dark grey, steel-toed, combat boots.

There was also a specific bracelet each person wore with a letter ingrained in to identify which division and sub-division they belonged to.

Each uniform is specifically tailored to the individuals body as each material is precious and one uniform can cost up to 100,500 Inx.

All the members checked over their equipment, decided that all was well, then got ready for dinner.

Since it was the first day of living here, all of the unit decided to make one gigantic meal with everybody's favorite foods.

After about an hour and half, the dinner table was filled with all types of food from all regions of both the new and old world.

All the members sat around the round table in the middle of the dining room.

"Whose saying the hymn?" Wish asked. "I think Kira should do it because she's the captain, you know."

They other 9 agreed and gathered hands.

'The face of our deity keeps us safe. May our life be filled with prosperity and no retribution. We fight for the common goal of survival and will continue living in peace until there is no more to be had. We will stand against those who have done us injustice and we will win. Now, and till the end of our years.

Peace.'
