There was a slight jerking, then nothing.
Steph looked at David slightly confused when she realized her empathy was no longer picking up a wide array of emotions as she normally would, it was almost all just wonder and surprise.
David grinned as he noticed the look on her face change, he nodded towards the window that normally showed the underwater river and Steph started over before stopping dead and gazing out with amazement.
David, although focused on his work was happy, this was the look he hoped for. He enjoyed making her happy and it seemed to be harder and harder to surprise her anymore.
Steph saw New York growing smaller and smaller under them as they rose above the clouds and higher still.
"Shields are fine David; we should enter alignment soon."
David grunted and Steph was surprised, although, for anyone else this might be an impossible task, she previously believed David could easily do it. It was then that she noticed a large asteroid field seemly heading on a collision course.
After 10 minutes they were actually in space between the moon and earth. This was when the asteroids arrived to meet them. They seemed to form a landmass of approximately 130,000km2 in the center of the mass the previous Brother islands settled down with much fuss.
The upper part of the island slide right off like it had been cut and landed on the landmass around the island, then the farms, animals, and buildings began moving off the island and placing themselves around the central area working outwards.
This carried on for a few hours until eventually, a large new island existed. It looked a lot like an upside-down plate with a small city in the center, although at the moment the city was empty.
At the edges of the plate working inwards were hundreds of ports, enough to support an armada, then thickly forested lands leading to more gentle forests, plains, then the worked lands. Running like neat spokes to a bike; roads ran from the center outwards.
Since it was gently raised from the outside to the inside all views allowed you to see the forests with their streams, the earth, and the moon. At times other planets might even be visible.
Steph looked back towards David and squealed as she flung herself at him and hugged him tightly.
"Can they see us?"
"No, we are shielded and hidden, at least until 1961, then we might have to learn Russian."
Steph tilted her head in curiosity.
"We should have a guest then; I am still debating. If we do, I will be taking humanities arrogance down a peg or two."
"Now, GCA. Have all those working for us that are loyal enough to know about this that they are very welcome to invite all their extended family. Even those in other locations of the world."
"We have land to fill and are in need of people. Of course, normal clearance applies."
"Yes, David"
"Then the orphans, people with disabilities we can resolve and those with the x-gene. Also, we can now distribute our tech to the land. Only those with nanites are allowed to use the teleporters."
Within each building of David's on the surface, a room was built, then a teleporter was laid on the floor and a box the size of the room was placed inside it and decorated to be an office. This way the entire "box office" would teleport and if he wanted people would not even realize they were on a tiny planet.
Steph was happily watching people explore the new lands, the kids were loving it as everything was new. Some plants they had never seen were planted in the gardens. David had made a large garden with a small amount of each type of Vibranium in it as they would affect the plant life, making rare and amazing plants.
Harvesting the asteroids had led to allot of rare metals, gold being the most useful right now as It could be used in any country as currency or to exchange. Using this David started to by up land in very specific places. He then had them change into safe houses with 1940 weapons, bars, and other convenient stops that might be needed for the 107th.
Time rolled on slowly as weapons using the A Vibranium were created and stationed around the island, at the moment they were concerned about the lack of safety on the previous Levar crafts and having them re-outfitted, or at least this was the excuse David was using to add his safety switches to them.
He told GCA about his concern that she might be influenced by the returning ships and she agreed to overrides being placed into her system and hard wire disconnects.
Of course during this time he had to deal with an annoyed Amazonian who had been out following clues on Ares when David took the base up, so she returned to the illusion of the island that was designed to slowly sink into the river due to erosion and the underground river.
David offered to do the same for the Amazons, move their island to space or have it joined onto Genesis, the name given to the new land. At the moment they were apparently seriously considering it as David had proved true to his word in regards to Diana so far.

David had warned all his people that were Jewish to get themselves and their families out of Europe, and if they were caught by the Germans advancing on Poland to use all means to make it to a safe house alive. He did not care if they revealed their powers, they were his people and he was not going to let them suffer.
He had pre-warned his people in the Germans what would be happening, about the atrocities. He had plans to save as many as possible without changing history, but his people would need to do things most humans would regard as inhumane, considering this he offered them a nanite partition. It would basically separate them from their emotions, and when it was all over, they would only ever see that time in their lives as a movie.

He already had people in the Hydra branch of the German army and since nanites were used to relay information the chances of discovery were very low.
The 1st September 1939 came, and War began again. In 1940 Johann Schmidt was injected with a variant of the super-soldier serum, becoming the Red Skull, David's agents were lucky to be there and this meant they were at least trusted.
In 1942 David's agents within Hydra informed him the Red Skull tracked down and stole the Space Stone (Tesseract) from a church in Norway.
With this information, David put the 107th into action with Bucky Barnes being assigned to the unit while Steve Rodgers got assigned to Project Rebirth.
Hela had still not decided to leave her prison, but David had another card he could play if he really had too.
Nat and her girls chose to work for David and were therefore all granted the ability to hide within a shadow. Nat was granted the additional power of shadow travel as David had a soft spot for the girl and they were therefore used as covert bodyguards. Nat was to watch over Bucky.
