Chapter 9 - Chapter 8

The mist had grown so thick it felt like breathing through silk. Ice mirrors shimmered everywhere, reflecting Haku's graceful, deadly form a hundred times over. Senbon needles whistled through the air like silver rain.

Myra's heart hammered against her ribs as she stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Sasuke inside the deadly domain. Her luxurious blue kimono was torn at the sleeves and hem, the fabric clinging to her full curves from the spray of water and sweat. Strands of long white hair stuck to her flushed cheeks, but her pale blue eyes burned with determination.

"Stay close," Sasuke murmured, his Sharingan spinning wildly. Lightning crackled around his hand as he prepared another Chidori.

"I'm not going anywhere," Myra replied, her voice soft yet resolute. She wove rapid hand seals.

"Crystal Style: Moonlit Veil!"

Translucent crystalline petals erupted around them both, forming a protective, shimmering dome that deflected incoming senbon. The crystals caught the moonlight filtering through the mist, casting ethereal patterns across Sasuke's face. For a brief second, their eyes met—his dark intensity meeting her glowing gentleness—and something unspoken passed between them.

Haku's voice echoed from every mirror.

"You protect each other so naturally… How enviable."

A barrage of needles struck the crystal veil. Cracks spiderwebbed across it. Myra gritted her teeth and poured more chakra in, her powerful legs braced firmly on the ground. Okuninushi's voice rumbled in her mind:

Don't hold back, Usahime. Show them the strength of a princess.

With a cry, Myra slammed her palms to the earth.

"Wood Style: Rabbit Grove!"

Thick wooden vines laced with glittering crystal burst from the ground, smashing through several mirrors in explosive showers of ice and splintered wood. Naruto's shadow clones cheered loudly as they exploited the openings, swarming Haku from multiple angles.

Sasuke didn't waste the chance. He dashed forward, Chidori screaming. "Myra—cover me!"

"I've got you!" She sent glowing ayatori strings laced with chakra shooting after him. The strings wrapped around his wrists like elegant bracelets, boosting his speed and allowing him to change direction mid-air with rabbit-like agility.

Their combined assault was breathtaking. Sasuke's lightning pierced one mirror after another while Myra's crystal and wood techniques created platforms and barriers, turning the battlefield into a deadly dance only they seemed to understand. When a needle grazed Sasuke's side, Myra was there instantly—her body pressing against his back as she summoned a healing pulse of chakra directly into the wound.

"Careful," she whispered against his ear, her breath warm. Her ample chest brushed his back for a moment, and she felt him tense.

Sasuke's voice was rough.

"You're distracting me, Princess."

"Good," she teased breathlessly, a shy smile breaking through despite the danger.

"Maybe you'll fight harder to protect me then."

He let out a low, rare chuckle before spinning them both out of the way of another attack.

Their bodies moved in perfect sync—his sharp precision complemented by her graceful, flowing power.

The turning point came when Haku focused everything on Naruto.

The masked boy trapped the blond in a dome of mirrors, needles raining down mercilessly. Naruto's clones popped one after another.

"Naruto!" Sakura screamed.

Myra's eyes widened. Without thinking, she broke into a powerful leap, her strong rabbit legs carrying her across the battlefield in a blur.

Sasuke followed right behind her.

"Crystal Style: Eternal Lotus Prison!" Myra thrust both hands forward. A massive crystalline lotus bloomed around Haku's mirrors, encasing and fracturing them from the outside while she poured healing chakra toward Naruto.

Sasuke activated his strongest attack. "Lion Barrage!"

He descended like a predator, striking Haku with a devastating series of blows. The final kick sent the masked shinobi crashing through the remaining mirrors.

Haku fell to one knee, blood dripping from beneath the mask.

"Zabuza-sama… I failed you."

Zabuza appeared at the edge of the clearing, Kubikiribocho resting on his shoulder. His eyes narrowed at the sight of his defeated tool and the battered but still standing Team Seven—especially the white-haired girl standing protectively in front of Naruto and Sasuke.

"You kids… are something else," Zabuza growled.

Before he could charge, Kakashi appeared in a swirl of leaves, Sharingan blazing.

"It ends here, Zabuza."

The final clash between the two Jonin was fierce, but with Haku down and Team Seven supporting, the tide had turned. Myra, breathing heavily, leaned against Sasuke's side. His arm instinctively wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer. His fingers brushed the exposed skin above her obi, sending warmth spreading through her body despite the cold mist.

"You were incredible," Sasuke said quietly, only for her ears. His thumb traced a small circle on her hip.

"Don't scare me like that again."

Myra tilted her head up, her glowing eyes soft.

"I could say the same to you." She rose onto her tiptoes and pressed a quick, tender kiss to the corner of his mouth.

"My hero."

Sasuke's ears turned faintly red. He pulled her tighter against him, mindful of her generous curves, and returned the kiss properly—deeper, slower, full of relief and unspoken feelings. The world around them seemed to fade for those few precious seconds.

When the battle finally ended, Zabuza and Haku lay defeated but alive. Kakashi had chosen mercy, and Gato's arrival with his thugs was quickly dealt with by an enraged Naruto and the now-united villagers.

Later that night, after tending to wounds and sharing a quiet meal with Tazuna's family, Myra slipped away to the same rooftop where she and Sasuke had first kissed properly.

The moon was even brighter now. She sat with her knees drawn up, kimono pooled elegantly around her, playing with a string of glowing origami rabbits.

Footsteps approached. Sasuke sat behind her, pulling her back against his chest. His chin rested on her shoulder, arms encircling her protectively.

"Tomorrow we head back to Konoha," he said.

Myra nodded, leaning into his warmth.

"And then… more missions. More danger." She turned her head slightly, brushing her nose against his.

"But I'm not afraid. Not when I have you."

Sasuke's hand slid slowly down her side, tracing the curve of her waist and hip through the silk kimono.

"You make me want things I never thought I could have," he admitted, voice low and husky.

"Peace. A future. You."

Myra's breath hitched as his lips found the sensitive spot beneath her ear. She shivered pleasantly, one hand reaching back to thread through his dark hair.

"Stay with me tonight?" she whispered, cheeks burning.

Sasuke answered with another kiss—this one filled with promise and growing passion. Under the watchful moon, the Rabbit Princess and her avenger found solace in each other's arms, their hearts beating in sync as new threads of fate wove tighter around them.

Far above, Okuninushi sighed in Myra's mind.

Hmph. Just don't make me an uncle too soon, Usahime.

Myra's soft laughter echoed across the water as she melted further into Sasuke's embrace.

The Land of Waves mission was over.

But their story was only beginning.
