Simon's mind took some time to clear up after Stella's outburst. He sat blinking at the little figure laying upside down for some time before he moved.
Simon approached Stella and asked, "What happened?"
Stella rolled her eyes, "I don't talk to liars."
Simon frowned as he sat down in front of her face and tried to remember any one time he had lied to Stella. Finding nothing, he sighed, "Can you tell me what you are talking about?"
"No." Stella replied without even looking up from the phone.
Simon: "..."
Simon reached out and snatched the phone from Stella in one fluid motion, before she even knew what happened.
"Hey!!!!!" She exclaimed as Stella actually fell down on the floor trying to take the phone back.
Simon's lips did not even have the time to form into a triumphant smile before the phone was back in Stella's hands, and she was frowning at it. "Damn! I died." She said as Stella glared at Simon.
Simon was still trying to comprehend what had happened. How could a mere human have taken the phone and he, with the vampire speed, had not even seen it?
"How did you do that?" Simon asked, bewildered, as Stella sat down properly on the floor, cross-legged before him.
Stella pouted, "I'm not telling you anything until you answer my question."
Simon: "Which is?"
Stella: "Why did you lie to me?"
Simon scratched his head, "Lie to you? I really didn't."
Stella stuck out her tongue, "Yeah. It's called lying when a person says they don't need sleep and the next instant fall asleep on your shoulder."
Simon seemed thunderstruck by this revelation, "I.....I fell asleep???"
Stella frowned like she was looking at a crazy person, "What the hell!?!?!? What's so unbelievable about that?"
Simon: "It is as unbelievable as if you suddenly started drinking blood."
Stella's attention was immediately pitiqued, "Why is that?"
Simon: "I told you that we vampires can function without sleep right? Our body doesn't need it."
Stella nodded and Simon continued, "Well, the only condition for us to fall asleep is that our mind should be peaceful and comfortable. Our body rarely has anything to do with it."
Stella scratched her head. The conversation was loosing her a little bit.
Simon sighed, "We can only fall asleep when our mind is completely at peace. And as that rarely ever happens, even with you humans, we rarely fall asleep."
Realisation dawned on Stella's face as she shrugged, "Well, the fact of the matter is that you did fall asleep. I don't know all the technicalities, but I can vouch for that. Hell, you didn't even wake up when I climbed down with you on my back."
The doctor in Simon immediately woke up, "What!?!? You climbed down from the roof!?! And with me on your back!?!? What the hell!!!! How the hell is that even possible!?!??!? How many of your wounds opened up!?!? What were you thinking????!!!!!"
Stella put her fingers in her ears as Simon continued yelling and began to examine her bandages.
Once he was done, she said, "Now that you've completely woken up, how about some breakfast? For me, obviously."
