Maybe amelia was overthinking again. It was a habit she had developed over the years, but that never meant it would just stop any moment. But maybe it would.
Damien saw the faces he was receiving from his siblings and nick, but he was too tired to try and defend himself. Besides, it was not like he would win against Carlos or any of them.
They were his weakness, and if him taking an unexpected leave that was severely punishable by the Kenyan military authority was not enough proof of that, there was nothing he could do. He had left mid-mission and he obviously owed his superiors an explanation.
It have been over fifteen days since he had disappeared.
Granted, he still took charge of some operations from his sister's apartment, which was not enough absolution for his first betrayal. He was hoping his team and superiors would understand because they were taught that family was important, but they never talked of anything other than duty first.
