Drew felt stupid for hoping that things would change. He was angry at himself for thinking he wouldn't be one of those cliche rejections of the highborn he always heard about. He hated that he was a victim of this and he hated that he was living a nightmare.
Silently and without making another sound or whimper, he got up, leaving the three friends to continue their discussion.
"Heyy, why are you leaving?" Carrie asked at the same time Qiao spoke.
"Drew's my mate."
When Qiao spoke, he expected Drew to pause and come back to him, but his mate just walked away, leaving the crown prince and his friends staring at the blank space. Whatever was going on, it had to be that serious.
Carrie looked at Qiao, before smacking his head to go on after his mate. for an intelligence officer, this man was really dumb. She didn't know what was going on between the two of them but she didn't need to be a wolf to know Drew was sure his mate would reject him.
