Travis felt like butting his head against the wall for being so stupid and fouling his own plan. 'I played right into her hands, knowing she was a gold digger. From the very first time I saw her, I knew she had ill intentions. Now look at how things turned out. She's getting in, and I am the one getting out. If only I had anticipated that the outcome would be this way. I surely would have listened to Careen and Lasandra.
'Now, I am exposed, and I am losing everything. My job, my inherited property by marriage, and being homeless are the least of my troubles now. I was too negligent in abusing all that money I got over the last six months.
Gritting his teeth as he offhandedly calculated the amount over the six months. It would have been over a few million, which would have set me right for decades to come. Abusing all that money, never thinking this day would come, now I have gambling debts to clear and no income. I can't go to Dennise, and pacifying Candis is completely out of the question. 'Oh God, why didn't I make the right choice?'
Scratching his head, all that was on Travis' mind was that this madness wouldn't be happening. When Candis screamed, Travis hurried out, not waiting to be caught up in her rage, knowing what the envelope had.
Lying in the bed, Torren's heart was heavy knowing what Shawney asked, 'But they needed to know, but now they will know where they stand. I will definitely have to find an easy way to let her know that the family is aware of our marriage.'
Standing at the airport with his luggage, a shoulder bag on one shoulder, while Torren held the children's hands, waiting for Carl and his Dad to return.
Thinking, 'Dad could have remained, while Carl went to get a park, and I could have checked in my bags, so why didn't he?'
When both of them returned, Dad had a travelling bag on his shoulder, "Dad, that is not my bag, why are you bringing it?"
"It is mine, son, I am going with you, the distance from the airport to her home is very far. And you will have to make two stops, I cannot risk you travelling with my two grand-kids alone, and that heavy luggage. I am afraid in those lonely villages, many scammers are lurking around, who knows what may happen?"
"But Dad, how will you go with me, when you don't have a ticket?"
"Don't worry, son, God was on my side, I got an emergency ticket, so let us go, Carl, will you check in our luggage, please, son?"
Torren walked with the two children, when Carl went to check in our bags, but all that was on his mind was whether it had sufficient room for all of us at her home, hearing her home is small.'
Before Carl left, Torren heard his Dad telling Carl to look over the business and family. Torren himself was a bit excited as he listened to the children, seeing how excited they were.
As we moved from one point to another, they were fully awake. From what Dad said, they have never travelled before.
Before I got on the plane, I had fixed Gretta tea and changed her, as we sat on the plane, seeing how anxious they both were. Waiting for about twenty minutes before the plane engine came to life, both of them were bubbling with excitement, sharing the window seat with such vigour and curiosity.
When the plane was up in the air, and nothing to see, Gretta settled down asking for her tea.
'I knew she was tired from the distance she had walked. I didn't mind, though; I was prepared for that, knowing it was almost time for her nap. Tray, on the other hand, sits with dad, who was prepared as well; he had Liz make mini sandwiches for both of them, knowing Liz was always giving them something to eat.
They were both asleep. I was never so glad that Dad came; he knew they would be a handful to manage.
When the plane landed in Chicago, they were sound asleep. Dad had to carry Gretta, and I took Tray.
The Air Stewart asked if I needed assistance after we waited for everyone to leave. Saying, "No thanks" Then she waited for us to leave and follow behind.
I had my bag on my right shoulder while Tray was sound asleep on my left shoulder. Dad had his shoulder bag while carrying Gretta. When a gentleman offered to help Dad with his bag, he flatly said, "No thanks."
All our documents were secured in Dad's bag, together with our cash. In my bag, all of Gretta's tea, wipes, and clothes, together with their snacks.
Seeing that she continued walking next to me, thinking she might assist with my bag. I offered to let her help with my bag, but then she bluntly said, "No," and walked away.
Looking at her, thinking, 'Did she feel I would give her my child?'
When we arrived to collect our luggage, another young lady appeared out of nowhere and offered to assist me. She also wanted to hold my child, but I said. "Please, just take out that luggage with the blue ribbon tied to the handle."
Smiling when she just walked away, "Thank God Dad is here with me. I didn't expect all this drama. If I were alone with the two of them asleep, how on earth was I going to manage?'
A gentleman who was waiting for his luggage heard me and took the initiative to assist with my luggage and set it down next to me.
Thanking him, I then leave Dad with our luggage, just holding my shoulder bag with Gretta's belongings. Carrying Tray on my shoulder, I went to get a trolley.
