Chapter 54 - The Calm Before..

General Jaeger stood within The Imperial Bane, watching as Hondo's ship entered their space, smoke trailing from one of the engines. The Cyborg sighed, shaking his head as the ship slowly lowered to the planet. "I knew he would be useless." Greivous' voice echoed in William's mind, causing the cyborgs eye to twich.

"He was your suggestion." William spoke aloud, catching the attention of a nearby droid. A B1 officer approached and took a place behind the General.

"Uh, sir, are you alright?" It asked in that high-pitched tone. Something within the General snapped and he swung an arm back, breaking the head of the droid from its body, the frame falling to the floor. The other nearby droids squeaked in fear and returned their focus to their consoles, trying not to draw the General's wrath.

"Always hated these useless clankers!" Grievous stated as William took control of himself, rolling his head and shoulders.

"They are annoying, yes, but they are also easy to mass produce. It's not like we can make a loyal clone army at this junction. We have our force, and it would be greatly appreciated if you restrain yourself from destroying them." William commented, making sure it remained in his own mind. The Cyborg began walking through the bridge and heading towards the hangar, droids clearing a path through the hall as he walked by. "Besides, you're only an artificial construct of General Grievous, so technically you should hate yourself."

The voice growled as Jaeger reached the hangar, approaching the fighter that Greivous had in his vault, the Souless Two. The cockpit slid open and William allowed Greivous to take control, the way the Cyborg walk shifted drastically. The tall and proud Cyborg began to slouch, hunching it's back as he grew closer to his fighter.

Greivous chuckled as he reached up to the cockpit and grabbed the hull, pulling himself in by flipping his whole body. He expertly landed in the seat and began the pre-flight check, the cockpit sliding closed and sealing. After a moment, the ship rose from the ground and flew towards the planet. "Time to meet our new ally." Greivous said, approaching the surface of Gwori.

Drydock

------------------------------------

Hondo's vessel slowly made its way towards a landing pad, parts of the ship falling off and landing on the platform, one of them even falling into the canyon below. Once the landing gear was solid and secured, the loading ramp lowered, and the soldiers that had gone on the mission began to disembark. The last to disembark were Lucia, her father and...

"Another successful venture, if I do say so myself." Hondo proclaimed, slowly making his way down to the landing pad, chest puffed out proud. Lucia and Victor looked towards their pilot as he made his way down, Lucia holding back the urge to shake her head. She turned to see Kha approaching, his larger canine form standing out against all of the humanoid individuals, as well as the escort of B1 security droids.

"WELCOME TO THE DRYDOCK, VICTOR VONDERLORNE. A PLEASURE TO MAKE YOUR AQUAINTENCE." The wolfish character said, bowing his head in a respectful manner. Victor returned a similar gesture, nodding his head.

"The pleasure is mine. Thank you for releasing me from my pseudo imprisonment, as well as reuniting me with my daughter. I will make certain my forces assist you in your venture establishing this new government."

Just as they were beginning to chat, a vessel began to descend near them, the few of them looking up to see that it was the Soulless Two. It landed quickly, the cockpit sliding open and allowing the General to climb out. He jumped out and landed, his claws piercing the landing pad slightly. Hondo, seeing the General, began to feel a bit terrified, recalling the time General Grievous assaulted his pirate empire. Turning to Kha, he lost the personality of a hero and turned coward. "I'll be taking my payment now."

Kha looked to Hondo, then to the General, shaking his head before pulling out a sack of credits. Quickly, Hondo took the bag and ran up his ship, turning to bow towards the group one last time. "It has been a pleasure doing business with you. If you ever need me, just give me a call." Hondo stood up, and with that, he boarded his ship and left the group by themselves.

Everyone whose attention was taken by the pirate slowly turned back towards the General, the cyborg standing tall with his hands clenched behind his back.

"I am General Jaeger, and I welcome you to the Galactic Commonwealth."

Down in the canyon, a piece of Hondo's ship remained, imbedding itself into the rock of the world. A small beacon pulsed rhythmically, a flashing light indicating that the signal was still strong and transmitting. There it pulsed as Hondo's ship continued to gain altitude, leaving the world behind.
