Chapter 127 - Fire and Air

Two days after Lyra's sweet 16, the mansion was unusually quiet.

Ivory was in the kitchen drinking a cappuccino one of the workers had made. She noted that the mansion seems to be vacant. That usually meant something was going to take place.

She noted there seemed to be some drama at the party; she didn't know what would take place.

Suddenly, it happened.

Elara stomped into the backyard, and Orion stormed right after her. Ivory knew something would happen.

"Leave me alone, Orion!"

"You need to be tougher, Elara! The humans see that we are the children of a strong Seraphyne ruler. We have ancient blood, roots, and DNA. This world won't be kind to you."

"You don't know what you're talking about," Elara snapped.

"This world will eat you alive if you ignore your legacy and diminish your gifts because you wish to be ordinary," Orion said coldly. "The humans don't consider us one of them. They won't accept you. You're the daughter of the man that stole their freedom."

Elara narrowed her eyes and stepped closer.

Ivory jumped out of her seat and made her way down the hallway. She hated how there wasn't backdoor from the kitchen to the backyard.

She could hear them yelling at each other from the hallway.

"You're regressing because you want to be ordinary!" Orion yelled. "We are legendary. Get back inside and finish your training!"

"Stop bothering me!"

"Why do you want to be ordinary so much? You're going to ignore your roots for humans? What will they do for you?" Orion shot back and stepped closer to her. "They may overthrow you, and you'll be too powerless to fight them off because you hate what we are."

Ivory got to the backdoor and walked outside to see what would unravel next.

"You're a waste of talent," Orion shook his head.

"Orion!" Ivory hissed at him. "Stop it."

"What? It's true, mom," Orion crossed his arms at Elara.

Elara got so angry that she stepped closer to Orion, and opened her hand.

Ivory started to run over toward Elara, but everything had happened abruptly.

Strong winds came from Elara's hand, and the closest object near her was a rake. The rake got caught in the crossfire between Elara and the wind, and rapidly flew over and hit Orion in the face; luckily, Orion was able to cover most of his face before getting wacked with a rake.

Elara's eyes widened at what happened.

Ivory gasped, and her hands covered her face.

"That's my girl," Blue said from the door.

Ivory's eyes widened. Elara was an air bender!

"Orion, come here," Blue replied as Orion groaned in pain. Ivory ran over too.

Orion stood up with blood dripping from his face. "Oh, that's it!"

Orion was a great fighter; he would use swords, bow n arrows, and he could fire bend.

He threw fire from his hand and directed it at Elara, who blocked it with air.

The two had begun to duel.

Ivory was bewildered at what just happened! She had no idea Elara was a bender, and out of all her kids, she didn't think Elara would be the one brave enough to fight Orion.

The rest stood by the door.

"Oh my gosh!" Lyra jumped with glee. "Orion's getting his ass kicked!"

"About time!" Kael replied.

The gang and some Seraphyne came by and watched. Some Seraphyne members tried to stop them, but the two siblings were adamant on beating the crap out of each other. Ivory stared at Blue, who silently watched. He did nothing.

She shook her head, and got closer to her fighting kids. Blue called out for her, and then followed.

Orion noticed Ivory coming, and surrendered. He was been practicing his fire bending for years and was able to control it; he also knew fire differed depending on the emotions coming from him.

Elara, on the other hand, had no idea she was a bender until now, and because she wasn't well equipped, she couldn't control her bending, and when Ivory took another step, with Blue screaming for Ivory in a deep warning voice and a finger in the air. to stop Elara's uncontrollable winds, Ivory got smacked with the air Elara couldn't handle.

Ivory flew a couple hundred feet and covered most of her face as quickly as she could as she landed onto the ground. She felt her ankle pop, too.

Serene began to cry.

Cassian and Kael jumped over the railing to get to Ivory.

"Mom!" Elara gasped.

"No!" Lyra screamed and pushed through the crowd to get to Ivory.

Orion was over in a second and gently pulled Ivory up from her shoulders.

Three out of six children were mending to Ivory's wounds; all Ivory did was groan and moan in pain. She was severely injured.

Serene couldn't do much with her psychic abilities. She just came over and held her mother's hand.

Cassian crouched down next to her and held a cloth to her bleeding head as Kael held onto Ivory's ankle; a bubble emerged and wrapped around it. Then, Lyra some of her kinetic energy to help Kael mend Ivory's pain. Kael had natural healing abilities and was trying his best to close as much of Ivory's wound as he could. He was not an expert yet, so he could only close a certain amount before she would need stitches.

"See? This is why you need to control your abilities. You almost killed our mother!" Orion shouted.

The other four were too focused on helping their mother to stop Orion and Elara from arguing with each other.

"I hate you!" Elara screamed, more wind came, and then it quickly stopped.

Elara then ran off, and Honor and Harley followed after her.

Cassian used Telekinesis to close the garden gate, but Elara used her wind to open it, and completely damaged the door. Elara was gone.

"I can't believe she just ran off!" Blue sneered as he just got off the phone with Oak.

Cassian was shocked and stomped his foot in anger, and the flower pots along the wall began to rattle violently.

"Relax," Lyra said, "We'll deal with her later!"

Red lifted Ivory into his arms. "I'll take her to the hospital room." Cassian held the cloth to her head.

Blue nodded.

"Once she's taken care of, Elara is grounded," Blue told Rover, "So make sure to bring her to me. She isn't refusing her training anymore!" Blue barked. "She almost killed my wife!"

Rover nodded and ran in the direction Harley and Honor had run --- there was a path that lead the woods, and the woods lead to a narrow alleyway that was in the main part of town.

Orion went to follow Rover, but Blue stopped him.

"I'm going to take care of your mother. I want the rest of you to go into the living room and leave Elara alone. Reprimanding her will only make this worse. And thank you four for pitching in."

Blue ran off to worry about his injured wife.

Orion nodded and pulled Selene with him as he, Kael, and Cassian followed instructions.
