Chapter 105 - The Fall of Earth

It was time ..... the fall of Earth would now commence. The first signs were small. Blue had small drones in the air --- the important people disappeared first: the wealthy, celebrities, politicians, and anyone in a position of higher powers. Lawyers. Doctors. Teachers. The Military. Powerful families.

Military communications were already failing, now that they were gone; there was no one left to protect the rest: Blue called them the Dominion. He had a huge blueprint on a glass table in one of his rooms where he marked the main areas that the average humans would reside.

His prediction was to imprison the useful ones and then the Seraphyne drones would scan people and see who would be deemed worthy physically to breed the next generation of dragons. The drone would scan everyone else and decide who would be chosen to work labor jobs --- and who would fall.

Then came the impossible.

The Earth opened.

Across the world, massive entrances appeared beneath cities, forests, and oceans. For centuries, humanity had looked toward the sky searching for life beyond Earth. They never thought to look beneath their feet. Futuristic buildings, crystalline caves, and big submarine shaped machines came from underground.

Ivory stood on the balcony to the mansion's master bedroom. She watched the horizon.

The forest that had always surrounded her was still there, but everything beyond it was changing.

News reports filled every screen. Red lights flashed from the TV and screeching sounds were heard. There was a news reporter telling humans to evacuate, as Blue and his gang were attacking earth!

Ivory saw the red lights from miles away; she heard people screaming and wailing.

Panic.

Confusion.

Fear.

The old world was breaking apart.

Blue watched it all from the mansion, from his laboratory where he had his blueprint.

Blue watched not with excitement. With patience.

Like a person watching something happen exactly as they predicted.

The bedroom door opened and Ivory turned to see Blue.

"You knew this would happen," Ivory said. Blue looked at her. "You knew people would fight. That they would be afraid." She stared at him. "And you don't care?"

Blue was silent for a moment. "I care about the survival of my species."

Ivory felt her expression change.

There it was.

The truth. Not hidden. Not softened.

The Seraphyne came first.

Always.

To Blue, his species was more important, and to make them better, he would exploit the strongest humans; this was his century long work that he had planned and succeeded in completing. The mafia gang was a set up, to distract people from the truth. Not even politicians knew.

Blue was too smart to let himself break.

"The humans who survive will have a place."

"And the ones who don't?"

Blue looked toward the city lights in the distance.

"Every species has those who adapt."

Ivory realized something.

Blue did not see this as destruction. He saw it as evolution.

And that frightened her more than anything.

Blue took her hand and looked at the ground. "Watch. You'll see everything change soon."

Ivory peered at the grass, and took a deep breath.

She waited for what would come.
