"Laura, step forward," Miss Lourrie commanded.
Though Laura momentarily flinched at the invitation, she quickly settled her nerves and proudly strode forward.
"In our last fight, I believe I broke your treasured bow—the one you've used since you were a child," Lourrie stated. "I'm giving you this one: it was handcrafted by our family's greatest blacksmith. I also had it specially renovated to serve as your new weapon. You can now use this bow without wasting a single arrow; however, you will have to use your own mana for the arrow to appear." Lourrie then signaled her attendant, who presented the bow. Lourrie took it and gave it directly to Laura, who accepted it gladly, hiding a sudden blush on her cheeks.
"Go ahead, try to use it," Lourrie urged, clearing her throat. It was obvious she was just as excited to see how the remedied weapon functioned.
