"Let's sit there," he said, pointing to a vacant table in the corner.
"Okay, come on!" I dashed to the table and immediately claimed the seats. "Save!" I yelled, waving my hand at him.
He smiled, shaking his head slightly, and placed the tray of our food on the table.
"Thank you!" I smiled, eagerly accepting my plate.
"You're welcome." He took a forkful of his carbonara.
"So tell me, are you single?"
My sudden question caused him to choke on his food. I quickly grabbed my water bottle and handed it to him.
"Huh?" he asked, his eyes wide with shock.
"I'm sorry, that was rude of me," I apologized sheepishly, embarrassed by my own bluntness.
"Uhh... it's fine, and yes, I'm single."
"Really? How come? You're handsome! You know—really attractive," I stammered out.
"Thanks. I always get questioned a lot. Some people even say maybe I'm gay. I get bullied too, so I don't really—"
