The night passed as quickly as it came, and morning finally took over.
"That was such a wonderful time cultivating inside the Nine-floor divine pagoda. If I had more time, I could have broken through to the early eighth level of the Soul Transformation Realm. But in any case, I'm in no hurry! I feel like my foundation is not solid enough yet. I will have to use the next few days to stabilize my cultivation and then try making a breakthrough to the next level. Slowly but steadily is the best way to become a true master." Feng Li had spent the night inside the pagoda training, which gifted him with a full day's worth of cultivation.
Hurrying to leave the mansion, Feng Li met with Feng Xue just outside the main door of the Feng mansion. The two started walking together to where the other disciples were currently gathering before proceeding to the centre of the city, where the event of the day was supposed to take place.
When they arrived at an open ground, several Feng family disciples were already gathered together, with the thin elder quietly waiting for maybe a few more of the disciples to arrive.
"It seems like we are a little bit late compared to the rest of them." Feng Li said while scanning around all the disciples standing.
"Hmmmm, how arrogant of you to make an elder wait for the two of you as though you are the clan leader or something." Feng Bu grudgingly said.
"Did I just hear a fly making unnecessary noises around here?" Without even looking towards Feng Bu, Feng Li already threw some cold words and slowly walked his way and stood a few inches next to Feng Xue.
"Go easy on him, big brother, lest he pisses himself out of anger." Feng Xue said mockingly without even casting an eye towards Feng Bu.
"Enough with you three. So, we are gathered here today for nothing other than the intake of disciples to the several martial schools and sects that will be arriving today right at any moment from now." The thin elder slowly said while scanning through the disciples.
Rumble!
Huge noises could be heard as an enormous beast appeared, carrying a few individuals on its back. Looking at these people, they were emitting a frightening presence that of a peak Nascent soul realm master!
"What sort of a spirit beast is that?"
Everyone around was staring at the slightly large spirit beast that seemed to be emitting a very ferocious aura, which made staring at it slightly intimidating to some of the youths gathered around.
"Tiger spirit beast!"
The thin elder had a dignified expression as he stared at the tiger-spitting beast ahead. Tiger spirit beast was an ancient beast that had in its veins a diluted bloodline of an ancient god beast. These spirit beasts had a certain level of intelligence, which allowed them to evolve into a human form once they reached a higher level of cultivation!
Although this tiger spirit beast was strong, it was only in the mid nascent soul realm since it had not yet shown signs of transforming into a human form.
In the Southern-sky planet and the other six mortal worlds, ancient godbeasts were recorded to have roamed freely during the ancient era of the immortals, which was eons ago. Since the end of the immortals' era, no one has ever seen an ancient godbeast again. Some claim that they were in a secret realm no longer interested in the affairs of the mundane world! Another theory was that they became extinct because the current worldly essence couldn't nurture a godbeast. Nobody could say for sure which theory was true.
"The background of these fellows seems not to be simple at all." Looking at the individuals sitting on the back of the Tiger spirit beast, Feng Li could feel that these individuals were of extraordinary backgrounds.
"Hmmp, a mere cat masquerading as an ancient godbeast at this place." The voice of the mysterious elder sounded inside Feng Li's mind.
"What do you mean by a mere cat masquerading as a godbeast elder?" Feng Li could feel that the Tiger spirit beast ahead of him was actually of extraordinary lineage, to say the least.
"Isn't it just a god forsaken cat with the diluted blood of a quasi-saint beast, to think that it would have such a disposition in this place?" The ancient spirit of the nine-floor divine pagoda said with an irritated tone.
" What is a quasi-saint beast senior?"
"A quasi-saint beast is a divine beast that was bred from the descendants of both a divine beast and a saint beast. The offspring of such a union are what we refer to as quasi-saint beasts. They are usually slightly stronger compared to the strongest human." The ancient voice sounded inside Feng Li's ears.
"Now I understand. Since you said they are slightly stronger compared to the strongest human, how do I measure if I were to meet such a beast with the same strength as me? " Feng Li asked curiously.
" You cultivate the strongest immortal physique under heaven. You possess the complete inheritance of an ancient immortal. Is there are need to ask how much of a freak you actually are? "
" A freak! " Feng Li smiled slightly when he heard how serious the ancient voice sounded in his ears.
" Why are you smiling for no particular reason, you moron? "
It was at this moment that Feng Li heard a sweet voice that made him snap from his absent-mindedness. The one who asked him was none other than Feng Xue.
"Actually, is nothing, I was just reminded of the dream I had last night. That's all."
"It must have been very interesting for you to smile for no reason. Quickly tell me about it." Feng Xue said with an eager expression.
Hearing that she actualy wanted hear about the dream he heard, he was now smiling awkwardly since that was just an excuse!
"I will tell you later, okay?" He said while feigning to have closed his eye.
