Chapter 1 - Run

'Run. I have to keep running. I need to just.. keep.. running.' I kept telling myself as I finally reached the end of the forest which had seemed to go on forever. When I finally reached the treeline I found myself at a dead end, a cliff descended before me and I frantically searched for somewhere, anywhere to hide, then I looked down. 'THERE!' a cave maybe a miles descent on the side of the wall 'but how am I going to get there? I'm too weak, I'm starved, dehydrated, most likely malnourished, not to mention I don't have any proper body strength' and with that final thought I did something that was either going to blow up in my face or work exactly to my advantage, I let out a yell of annoyance, realized what I did and with new found adrenaline, forced myself to face one of the biggest challenges of my life, scaling down the probably 1000 mile wall of pure stone without falling.

"Okay, you can do this.."

"Just. DON'T. LOOK. Dow-" I obviously looked down, I mean who wouldn't? I was roughly 1000 meters in the air holding onto the most craggy thing I'd ever seen. After I so mindlessly looked down I hugged the wall tighter and continued my descent to the cave, I had just barely gotten to the entrance when I heard voices overhead. I could tell by the way they spoke that they were looking for me, Blink's men. Blink was the guy who kidnapped me nine years ago, I was only 11 years old, when Neil and I went to the park just down the road from our pack house. Neil was my brother, my twin brother, he wanted to keep playing but I wanted to go explore the abandoned areas of the park, so like the idiotic little kid I was, I went by myself and got jumped by six men halfway to where I wanted to be. Eventually I ended up at Blink's and wasn't able to escape until recently which is how I'm in the situation I'm in right now.

(I think we're safe) I often forget I can't communicate with my wolf, Shade, anymore. God, I miss that pig-headed annoyance!

I explored deeper into the cave finding myself getting weaker and weaker due to the fatigue but eventually found that the cave had a pool of sparkling water inside and was just about to indulge my dehydration when I felt a hard THUMP to the back of my head and everything went dark.
