It's past eight in the morning when Chloe finishes cooking, they immediately go to the dining table to eat.
Ryuchen could not explain why he just seemed to be able to eat in the morning.
Usually he only drinks coffee, but now he almost ate every dish that his wife cooked.
"Slow down." his grandmother laughed. "You will never run out of food Ryuchen."
"Old Madam..." a maid called as they were eating their breakfast. "The Master has arrived."
"Mom, we're home." they heard Ryuchen's father say out loud.
"Oh, Reid!" Grandma said softly while hugging his father. "How is your trip?"
"It's good, Mom. I'm so sorry that we didn't make it to your birthday party last night. But I had a surprise---." his father suddenly turned to his wife. His father's eyes widened in shock then he happily approached Chloe. "You're finally here, Chloe. We haven't seen each other for a long time."
"Hello, Uncle." Chloe greeted him politely. "How are you?"
"Chloe, you can call me Dad." his father said happily. "You're my daughter now."
"D-Dad?"
While looking how happy his family now that he brought his wife in the mansion, he thought that why did he hide Chloe from his family for a years? Why did he locked his wife alone in their villa?
He was really stupid to do that thing to her.
After their wedding he never brought her back in Ajero's mansion and she never met his family after that as well.
"Ryuchen, long time no see."
Ryuchen suddenly heard someone say, he turned his head to look at who speaks. He saw Liza Torres, his father's lover. It has been eight years since his father and Liza have been staying together.
Liza and Ryuchen's parents have been friends since high school.
When his mother died, Liza was the person who stayed by his father's side. Maybe his father developed feelings because Liza is always taking care of him.
"A-Aunt..." Ryuchen said in surprise, he didn't notice her. "How are you?"
He thought he was the only one who thought about his happiness.
They became close because she was the only one who opposed his marriage to Chloe. He thought she was the only one who thought about his happiness, that she's only thinking what is good for him and sympathizes with him.
But why does he feel anxious about her now?
Perhaps, because his wife is there?
"I'm good." she replied looking around. "How are you? Why aren't you with Lyka?" they all fell silent, there was a trace of surprise on Liza's face when she looked to the person beside him. "Who is she?" she asked again then pointed at Chloe.
She did not know Chloe because she had not attended their wedding before. She was in the Middle East that time because of a medical mission so she had never met his wife.
"She's Chloe." his father introduced Chloe. "She's Ryuchen's wife."
"What?!" Liza said in shock. "Did you really get married, Ryuchen? When we talked back then, you said you wouldn't go through with the marriage, why is she here now?"
"Of course, she's my grandson's wife and my granddaughter-in-law." Grandma said with a serious look at Liza. She was waiting for Liza to reply but she didn't say anything, so Grandma looked at Chloe and held her hand. "Chloe my dear, are you done eating? Let's go for a walk. It's a pity that I didn't finish the food you cooked, but I really don't want to stay here now."
Chloe did nothing but to go with Grandma. She did not know what was going on, but she felt there was a misunderstanding between them.
"Okay, Grandma." she just replied.
Ryuchen breathed a sigh of relief when he saw his Grandma and Chloe coming out of the dining room. His Grandma really doesn't like Liza from the start, so she doesn't hesitate to show that to her when they see each other. But Liza doesn't seem to care.
According to his Grandma, she does not like Liza at all. She said that she is kind of a greedy person and that she will not hesitate to do everything for her own personal interest. But no matter how much his grandmother tried to get his father away from Liza, she still didn't make the two separate.
"Aunt." Ryuchen said calmly. Now he understands why he was so worried about Liza when he saw her earlier. "Please, don't mention Lyka's name again in front of my wife."
Ryuchen doesn't want to have a misunderstanding with his wife anymore, he doesn't want Chloe to hear anything that Liza will say.
"Why?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. "Do you have a misunderstanding with Lyka? Why are you with that woman?"
"Chloe is Ryuchen's wife." his father explained, he immediately noticed his serious face. "She should be the only person we will allowed now to come to the mansion, not just anyone."
"But what about Lyka?" Liza turned to him. "Did you two break up?"
"We are never been together to begin with." he immediately answers. "And... she done a lot of bad things to my wife, and I will never forgive her."
"What happened?" his father asked curiously.
Ryuchen told his father what had happened last night.
He mentioned Lyka's involvement with Jeremy at Grandma's party and her plan to drug Chloe to ruin his wife's name.
He clasped his hand as he remembered what had happened to his wife last night.
"Fortunately, I saw them right away, if I was a little bit late.."
F*ck!
His blood is boiling with anger again.
"Back then, I really didn't feel good about that woman." his father said. "Ryuchen, it's good that you are avoiding her now."
"No!!" Liza exclaimed. "How can you be so sure that Lyka planned that? You know what kind of person Jeremy is, or perhaps your wife really tried to seduce Jeremy that's why he did that thing."
"Liza!" his father said angrily. "Chloe can't do what you're saying. I've known Chloe since she was young and I know she's not that kind of person."
"You said they lived abroad for ten years." Liza explained. "You don't know what kind of vile woman she is now. Ryuchen, Lyka... Lyka has been with you since you both were young. I also met her a couple of times now and I know she is a kind and lovely woman unlike your wife who looks like she will seduce every guy!"
"Enough!" Ryuchen said angrily then stood up.
What right does Liza have to say that to his wife? What does she know about what happened to her? Liza doesn't know what kind of person Lyka is, and what she did to his wife to make her say that to her.
"You have no right to insult my wife." Ryuchen said angrily. "So you better shut up!"
Ryuchen doesn't care if his father will get mad when he says that to Liza. But he will not allow her to insult his wife in front of him.
"But Ryuchen--."
"Enough, Liza!" his father said angrily to her. "Chloe is Ryuchen's wife and my daughter now. Insulting her means like you are insulting Ajero as well."
After saying that, his father left the dining room, Liza immediately followed him.
He gasped.
If that scene had happened in his past life. Maybe, maybe he will think the same thing as Liza. But the situation is different now, he already knows everything and he already knows who he will trust.
But why does he feel that something is wrong with Liza?
Why is she defending Lyka like that?
