INT. THE ROSE
The PATRIARCH looks at the STRANGER with a slight nod.
PATRIARCH
Yeah, you could've mentioned this prior to where you were…
THE STRANGER
Anyways, this thus brings me to what happened next…
EXT. BAR
THE STRANGER watches as DAGON comes over and points at the PORTAL.
DAGON
You'll be taken care of accordingly, and I'm sure my lord will make your stay as...hospitable as possible from within the dungeons.
THE STRANGER
Hahaha…
DAGON
What's so funny, boy?!
THE STRANGER just smirks as he leans his head back.
THE STRANGER
I didn't come alone…
DAGON turns as suddenly the DEMON controlling the PORTAL is shot in both eyes, the DEMON screaming as GREEN LIFE ENERGY suddenly explodes from his body, dissolving the meat suit instantly before the life force fires off into the sky like green lightning.
DAGON watches as two more shots ring out and another DEMON across the way is killed the same way as the previous DEMON, DAGON shouting in demonic code to his POSSE as they take defensive points around the CARRIAGE.
DAGON
Do not let him retrieve the package!
Three shots are heard and DAGON watches as the harness around THE STRANGER is riddled useless as THE STRANGER pushes it off and tackles DAGON, the wound in his stomach healed as The POSSE run towards THE STRANGER only for the LONER to appear, kicking one in the leg, knocking him to the ground as one of the DEMON'S swings his demonic blade at him only for the LONER to jump back and fire two shots without looking that hit each eyes, THE LONER then firing down at the one he tripped up as he fires two perfectly strategic shots that sail through the back of the DEMON'S skull and penetrate through both eyes from the back, the DEMON dissolving as THE LONER turns and dodges a few bullets that were fired at him by a DEMON.
The LONER fires backwards as he hits the DEMON'S eyes and watches it fall from its hiding spot, dissolving into the green lightning before its meat suit hit the ground.
THE STRANGER punches down again and again, DAGON'S face a bloody mess as THE LONER spins his gun into his holster, turning as he palms upwards and hits the LAST DEMON in the face, knocking it backwards before spinning a THROWING DAGGER out of his back pocket and tossing it into the DEMON'S LEFT EYE, the DEMON screaming in agony as it falls over, THE LONER turning his back on the DEMON as he stands over THE STRANGER who continues pounding away at DAGON.
THE LONER
You might as well stop, it won't do you any good.
THE STRANGER
It's making me feel better…
THE LONER
But it's not going to accomplish anything.
DAGON
Hahaha…
THE STRANGER
You think this is fucking funny?
DAGON
You two think you can change fate? You think you can stop what's coming! If we don't get you, then the angels will! If they don't, then this MAVERICK will...and even if you evade him, you still have the DESCENT...and I doubt that you'll ever get by them…
THE LONER quick draws and turns, firing one shot before holstering it as the DEMON he had stabbed with the throwing knife explodes in green lightning.
THE LONER
As you were saying?
DAGON
...It doesn't matter what you do, you two, you're both dead, or worse...who knows what the DESCENT have in store for you...you haven't a chance.
THE STRANGER
See...DAGON, that's where you're wrong.
THE STRANGER draw's his .357 as THE LONER pulls his out as well, both aiming at an individual eye as DAGON looks at them with a wide eyed look of genuine terror.
THE STRANGER
No one is going to control my future but me...and maybe him...(nodding at the LONER)...point being...As long as we're still breathing...none of your bosses plans, or MICHAEL'S, or even The DESCENT'S...Is going to happen.
THE LONER
We are the ushers of our own destiny…
THE STRANGER
And if you don't believe us…
DAGON
I'll be seeing you in oblivion soon!
THE STRANGER
Believe in this…
The TWO fire and turn as DAGON screams and then dissolves in a brighter and more powerful display of exploding meat skin, and green lightning.
THE STRANGER looks about as THE LONER goes over and pulls his blade out, dropping it back into it's holder as he tips his hat and looks at THE STRANGER.
THE LONER
That's why I've played things low key and to myself...you get caught up in with others, and bad things happen...you couldn't have saved the WOMAN...her fate was sealed.
THE STRANGER
That's not true and you know it. We don't just control our own fate, we control theirs too. Everyone, man, angel, demon, any and all we cross, we have the power to make it change. And she's dead because of me.
THE LONER
She was going to die with or without you. Those destined to die will die, whether it be now, or later. Just like us.
THE STRANGER
You gather anything?
THE LONER
I heard the DEMON'S talking while they were coming to round you up...seems like our other brother has been spotted about a day's ride west of here...They've possessed the townspeople in order to flush him out, We can make it there, but not before the entire town is taken over by the demonic possession.
THE STRANGER
If we can't save them, then we can't save them, but we can at least go and get our guy in the process. Let's go.
The STRANGER heads off as THE LONER falls behind.
