Without waiting for Li Jie to say anything, the driver stepped out of car in fear.
Li Jie whose face turned black was glaring at the driver who ran away. Zhang Xioaxi was first to come to her senses and started to wiggle out of her husband's embrace blushing.
Looking at the little wife wiggling out, Li Jie sighed and let her go. He himself don't know from where this closeness came. He was still the arrogant and cold CEO till yesterday who didn't want to marry at all.
But now those beautiful eyes, her smile and her face were all over his mind especially those little lips and his favourite mole. Those features are all pulling him towards her. He himself wasn't sure from when his cold heart started to melt. But was he regretting?
No, he wasn't. he was sure by now that this little wife of his is sure changing the things for him and she is also slowly starting to make her way into his heart.
only he knew how angry he was when those reporters surrounded her. His heart trembled to look at her struggling.
One look at her, he couldn't think anything straight, he just went and hugged her. That hug put his heart at peace after beating erratically. He knew this was all new and too early, but he couldn't help thinking about her.
As soon as she was free from his grip, she opened the door and ran away from him. As she was about to enter the mansion, Mother Li who just got down from the other car called her.
"Xiaoxi? What happen why are you running like that?"
"sister in law, why is your face all red? Are you okay?" asked Li Yan looking at Xioaxi who is all red like a ripe tomato.
"what happened Xiaoxi? Are you sick? "asked Mother Zhang who came forward to touch xiaoxi's forehead.
Not knowing how to answer them Zhang Xioaxi lowered her head and started chewing her lip thinking very hard to get an excuse.
Li Jie who just got down from the car, looked at his wife chewing her lip and sighed. He knew that she is shy and nervous looking at her red face and her habit of chewing lips.
"Xiaoxi, didn't you say you have to use the washroom, why are you still standing here?" asked Li Jie to let her escape from that place.
"oh yes, I am going in" said Zhang Xioaxi who then ran into the mansion like a scared kitten having saved from everyone by her husband.
Squinting her eyes mother Li looked at Li Jie,
"why is my daughters face all red? Were you bullying her?"
"mom, why will I bully her? She is not only your daughter but my wife too." Said Li Jie who then signalled Li Yan to follow him.
Understanding what was going to happen, Mother Li squinted her eyes and signalled Li Yan with her hand over her lips him to zip his mouth.
"if you say anything to him, understand that whatever favour I owe you is gone, not only that you will go on blind dates starting tomorrow. First one is Angela."
Stuck between his brother and mother, Li Yan wanted to cry. His brother is scary but his mom is scarier than his brother.
Inside the Study:
When Li Yan came into the study, Li Jie was standing in front of the window looking outside.
when Li Yan closed the door shut, Li Jie turned to him.
"go on"- said Li Jie with his eyes looking directly into Li Yan's.
"ahem, bro I have dealt with the reporters, so you don't have to think about it anymore. They won't come bothering sister in law ever again "-shuttered Li Yan under Li Jie's cold gaze.
*RING RING*
PICKING UP HIS PHONE, Li Jie turned on the speaker without breaking eye contact with Li Yan.
"boss, I have stopped the reporters from telecasting about Lady boss. our team is dealing with their cameras as we speak. no photo or video, surveillance footage will get out about madam. and boss, I also took back the check from them that second boss gave them to go on a vacation"- spoke Yang.
"okay yang, you can go back to office, I won't be coming to the office in the afternoon. Postpone all the meetings."
"ok boss"-said yang and disconnected the call.
Knowing that their plan was a failure and he cannot escape from his brother's wrath, Li Yan's legs already turned jelly in fear, and he was about to collapse when Li Jie spoke,
"Yan, I know Mom made you do all these, but you should have known what effect these things would have bought to Xiaoxi. Mom want me to introduce Xiaoxi as my wife to everyone, I don't have any problem with it.
Mom does not understand it. But being in the industry don't you know how nasty things get when you get into a relationship with your rival company employee not to mention boss of the company.
and do I need to remind you about Thomas? he is still no where to be found. but once he know that I am married, will he still be AWOL? - saying this Li Jie walked out of the study room leaving Li Yan behind.
As soon as he opened the door, he was treated with the sight of his mother and mother-in-law eavesdropping at the door.

Both the mothers who were not expecting Li jie to come out soon were shocked and started to walk in opposite directions to each other.
"mom, I think both of should go in one direction. And don't worry I didn't think that you people were eavesdropping." Said Li Jie sighing.
As soon as he saw Li Yan showing Xiaoxi in between the reporters, his anger shot up. But on the way back home, he realised it was all mother Li's plan to release about their marriage.
Like he said, he didn't have any problem with announcing but there are so many factors they need to consider before doing it.
