Even back in the Sunkan Planet, where Rean reincarnated for the first time, he could already use energy outside his body. There were no such restrictions there, nor were there during his entire cultivation life in Vinx Great Void.
Here, however, only at the Aura God level could he do that, a restriction he had never felt before other than in specific moments, like inside formations and such.
That said, he used the other Array Masters that worked for him to do the manipulation of energy while he worked on the rune. It wasn't perfect. The number of times Araujo and the others felt like crying because of Rean's verbal bullying during such moments was countless.
