Daoist Bone Ruler blinked. "You want me to accompany you?"
"Why wouldn't I?" Zhenyu spread his arms. "I like doing things openly. And since we're going to investigate a member of the Vault Division, wouldn't it be better to have the Head of the Law Division present as a witness?"
Daoist Bone Ruler felt his heart sink. He had hoped that his involvement would end with providing information and overseeing the eventual investigation. But apparently, Mengli Zhenyu had other plans.
"Senior, surely the Wild Peak has enough elders to accompany you." Daoist Bone Ruler tried to find a way to escape this 'opportunity' to do his duty.
"Of course it does." Zhenyu replied.
"Then..."
"Then what?" Zhenyu interrupted. "You're the Head of the Law Division. If someone complains about our investigation later, you can personally confirm what happened."
