The three stopped and the two senior disciples looked toward the trees where the sound had come from. Then they looked at each other as slow smiles appeared on their faces.
The first disciple turned toward Little Bull. "Junior Brother."
Little Bull looked at him. "Do you want fresh grilled boar instead?"
Little Bull's eyes brightened. "Fresh?"
The second disciple cracked his knuckles. "Very fresh."
The moment the squealing sound echoed through the forest again, the two senior disciples moved without hesitation. They kicked off the ground and shot between the trees, leaving small craters where their feet had been planted.
Little Bull followed right behind them, jumping over exposed roots and shattered trunks while pretending to put some effort into keeping pace. In truth, Lin Mu could have easily overtaken both men using his raw physical strength alone, though there was little reason to do so.
